I've been on both ends of the stick here...what do you do as customers
and what do you do as bookmakers. Is there a happy medium? I understand those who have to get down, but there are scammers who put the players in a bad light. Opinions please....

I'm for a total caveat emptor. Any bed due to a bookie error stays. Any bet due to a player error stays.

Edit: However, business wise, that's the worst case for both - big players will hit bookies on errors and they will lose money, recreational players will changes books pissed off cause they couldn't get that 10 bucks wager refunded....and books again will lose money.

I've done this on accident, and also within an accepted window (Las Palmas about 4-5 years ago during NFL crunch time. Their site was so face down, they'd leave the line up after kickoff until a big play or the wagers slowed down).

I can't remember where I did it on accident, but it was probably 5 minutes into the game...they said to not sweat it since they blew it & the score was still close.

As a player I quit trying to play at post time. That said love books that leave the games up a minute or two longer:dancefool . No edge, just wantin some buy back.

I was in Vegas three summers ago at the Hard Rock and their computers went down right before the late baseball games started. I was cursing and gave up because the games had started. The book manager let everyone make their baseball wagers after the games had started (within the first 5 minutes). I don't think any of the games had any scoring yet.

Didn't Bowmans lose millions in the Nfl with late lines. People would pound all teams with a good first kickoff return. I read a story on this once.

I remember my first online sportsbooks was tvccasino and it was about this time of year when the college basketball tournaments were on. I can't remember the specific game but it was an afternoon game and I got home from work and the game was still listed on their board to bet. I knew the final outcome but couldn't believe that they would keep this game up.
Long story short, I prefer to gamble and not cheat so I call in and they tell me that I am wrong. I say ok and place a wager up to my account balance. I wait a couple minutes and the guy comes back to the phone and tells me that the bet has been cancelled and they are putting $50.00 in my account!
Only time this has ever happened to me.
