There are a lot of unmoderated bulletin boards that people are used to-especially the younger guys. It's not surprising for them to come in with a "it's a free for all" attitude, but they learn or leave.

Because it is the quickest way to gain acclaim for some. If you attack poster(s), people will remember you more. It's the quickest way to draw attention and a reaction from others for a lot of low post guys. Once they see they are being accepted and replied too, they usually cool it. Happens all the time.
