I was considering purchasing a few gambling books:

Investing in College Basketball by Larry Seidel
College Basketball Wagering to Win by Larry Seidel
Basketball on Paper: Rules and Tools for Performance analsysis. by Dean Oliver

Does anyone have any insight or comments on whether these are good books?

Thanks.

With all do respect, many books will confuse you more. Reading the forums are more recommended.

Book 1 onyour list incorporates book 2 really.. no comment on book 3..

Baseball Betting 06 by Murray is reccomended.. I'd wait til later in the year to buy hoops books with the season almost over, you won't get the hang of things before the games stop..

stanford wong's book "Sports Gambling" (not 100% sure of the title) is by far the best over written. A must have for the serious sports bettor.

I would agree with simpleton but a better book I feel with advice that comes from the ages and easily still applies is Revalations in Sports Betting by Bob McCune. Its a bible to many and book 2 is a must for the serious baseball player.

I have read DOZENS AND DOZENS of gambling books. The best one that comes to mind is "education of a sportsbettor" by Bob McCune.

McCune's stuff is the best. The Seidel books are ok, never read the Oliver book. Very good stuff in there, but not going to get much from it now. Something you really need to read and absorb before the season starts. The Murray book was good in 2004, haven't bought the new ones as they are just stat updates I think.

Good call Fishhead. I believe Bob's laws is a good one also. Bob is straight to the point everyone and his material can be tough to take but look at it as a tough love thing that can help you immensley.

Please note I am a world famous Guessicapper which is a term I got from Bob so I call dibs. I have also been caught wishiycapping a few times too.

I believe it is "Sharp Sports Betting".
