Army to Launch Probe Into Tillman Death

AP - 12 minutes ago <!--summary-->WASHINGTON - The Army said Saturday it will launch a criminal investigation into the April 2004 death of Pat Tillman, the former professional football player who was shot to death by fellow soldiers in what previous Army reviews had concluded was an accidental shooting by members of his own unit. <!--/summary-->Col. Joseph Curtin, an Army spokesman, said the Defense Department office of inspector general had reviewed the matter at the Army's request and concluded that a criminal probe was warranted.

I always suspected this. The reporting of it and the way the family was told was just too strange. Plus, he was vocal against the Bush Admin who FEARED what he would say when he got back. I'm not sayin' I'm just sayin'...

The White House told the pentagon to tell the Army to do this investigation in hopes that it would distract the public eye from even more embarrassing government misconduct like Katrina and Guatanamo.

Nahhhh. Not even close to a big enough story distract from anything. If anything, it will bring to light the fact that Tillman was a staunch critic of the Iraq War and of the Bush Admin. Most people don't know this. But he's been silenced forever now.

War is foul play. People die. They don't always die under hostile fire, but they die.

Let me rephrase. I'm saying that it wasn't from hostile fire AND it wasn't an accident.

Are you suggesting that a person cannot be murdered while at war?

obviously, something aint right if there is an investigation. but, d2 do you really think the bush administration took him out because he was too vocal? certainly there are other more high profile and more vocal opponents of g.w. bush. why is he not having them all killed? why this hero who gave up millions of dollars to fight for his country? your hate for g.w. bush must be off the charts to suggest this.

I wasn't quite sugesting that. Not sure what I was suggesting, other than something didn't seem right. But, He was a potential headache for the Admin. He had told everyone that once he came back he was going to be vocal and speak out. Couldn't have been good for Bushco.

there are so many potential and actual headaches for the bush administration...you could count them all if you tried.
