From Scotty at BetJamaica....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For The Rx. posters...

I would like to apologize for the delayed response and correction of the obvious error regarding this unique soccer match.

Bet JM does not cancel games and we regret the human error made from a remote soccer location. The error has been corrected and again we regret any temporary inconveniences or headaches caused.

Our intentions and actions will always remain to the highest industry standards.

Congrats. Correct decision even if it costs some punters money...lol. Soccer wagers can't be cancelled like that, kudos to BetJM for stepping up and correcting the mistake.

Nice call Scotty...

I have talked to him before, and this guy seems like a standup guy....and pretty smart too...

I'm definitely not worried about having any money there.....i think they will be around for quite awhile.....and NOT JUST because of the "greek" connection...

Posted by Blank in the other thread...

It was definately not a line error. I had played it at +114 at Ladbrokes earlier. On BetJM, I took it at +110 on Saturday while it was max +100 to -110 else where I think (these are 3-way odds). Then bet more at -119 when the price had really plunged everywhere. They took it off the board soon.

Well of course they regret cancelling the bets if, as reported in the other thread, all of the cancelled bets were losers!

This is why I love these forums. Of the 10 bets made probably only one or two at most were made by forum posters. You wonder how many people get in a tricky situation with a book and we never here word 1, probably over 90% of these types of situations. Luckily this was a win win for the players.

This goes into the interesting situation category.

so in the end they cancelled losing bets during the match then reinstated them and thus they were losers.

This is funny as hell I wonder what would happen to the people who cashed out of betjamaica before they reinstated the wagers.

would betjamaica try and get the money back.

I really hope this is not the case. They apologized for cancelling 100% valid bets during a game. Which of 1,000 online sportsbooks they were the only one to do (cancel players wagers) so that we know of (olympic??).

Basically it set more of a bad precedent than anything else and could of led to all sorts of things.

Here is what happened.

Yesterday Scotty was off but recieved a phone call from Shayla at BJM CSD - so he returned to the office late yesterday afternoon. He found out what happened and uncancelled the game and had it graded 0-0 final, making losers out of anyone who played PSG. In light of the mistake that BJM admits making by originally cancelling the bets Scotty had each PSG losers accounts credited with the exact amount they lost on the match. Bottom line BJM made zero on the match and no players lost any money.

I want to emphasise how much BJM regrets the incident and that Scotty would like me to insure everyone here at The Rx that BJM does not cancel wagers that are made in good faith.

Thanks, wil..

Glad that this got sorted out the best way possible. I was pretty badly pissed off at them when received the cancellation message at half-time.. PSG was still a huge favourite to win. But I'm sure they won't make this kind of mistake again.

Basically from looking at a post in the soccer forum it looks like PSG went from +110 to -250 as the opponent fielded a weakened team.

It was not a palpable error therefore but a case of the book not actively managing their lines. The books were looking at a big payout but PSG couldn't beat the weakened team and they should have ended up cleaning up.

Of course I am only speculating but it looks like the book saw their liabilities, shat their pants cancelled the bets crying palpable error then tried to change their minds when PSG choked.

And they call the players shot takers

Fookin, in case you missed it -- the right team (Marseilles) won for the books. The line went from pick to -250 PSG. The game ended 0-0 with 3 way betting, just draws, and Marseilles money got there.

In this case there was no money on Marseilles at betJamaica but they did refund all the lost money placed on PSG as a curtesty. .. No shots were taken by BJM..

Wil,
Thanks for clearing this up. Even with Scotty's message yesterday I still didn't understand what had transpired and the result of the plays.

I don't play at BJM, but from what I have heard from several veteran posters here as a result of this, wouldn't hesitate to post up if they had offerings I was interested in.
