my co worker was saying he was sitting 8 rows behind this photo and saw Kirby disappear as he ran towards the wall and then a glove appeared to steal that HR. still has hit ticket stub...WOW.

I will really miss Kirby if indeed this is the end.

Kirby was popular with the gals as well and I know many a women who only like the Twins now from watching Kirby play.

I will always remember him coming up in 1982 when the Twins were just starting to resemble a team of the future, with Hrbek, Gaetti, Viola, Brunansky and the way the announcer would say Kirbyyyyy ....He sure did give the Orioles trouble.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Dam It.

I guess he was needed else where. Seems he should have gotten more love than he did after he retired.

Even with his incident, which may or may not have happened. Look how many players get caught with guns, drugs, rape! and still get love from the public.

Kirb is in a better place already.

Damn. Here's hoding out a shred of hope.

Hell of a player. That world series against the Cards was the one of the most memorable in my lifetime. Hell of a series. Was pulling for the Cards going in, but Kirby won me over. I had to pull for him.

Damn.

Sources: Puckett To Be Taken Off Life Support

(WCCO) Minneapolis Kirby Puckett was expected to be taken off life support sometime Monday evening, multiple sources have told WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen.

Puckett has been in critical condition after suffering a stroke and undergoing surgery because of it.

The 44-year-old Puckett, who led the Twins to two World Series championships before his career was cut short by glaucoma, was stricken Sunday at his Arizona home.

He was in intensive care at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Kimberly Lodge said. Puckett was moved to the hospital after surgery at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn.

Sometimes this stuff is just uncomprehendable, you see a guy on top of the world not too long ago, then he contracts a rare debillitating eye disease, retires prematurely, then this, has a stroke and is near death?
