i dont either

ive been looking at WBC matchups all morning. and decided to play small on Dominican. santana/zambrano should combine for 5-6 innings, but that lineup for the DR is just too stout. seen any books with totals? smells like an under to me.

i like canada -9.5,-135 btw...south africa wont get more than 3 hits, mercy rule will be invoked.

been straddling the fence on the usa/mexico game too. id love a prop on peavy holding them scoreless for 35 pitches, but concerned about USA scoring enough to cover the runline

i got venezuala to win the WBC overall at 6-1 odds, just saw value in that for how good their pitching is and young their bats are. anything could happen, however, if i had to bet on one team or the other today, for sure you have to consider the domincan because they have a much better/veteran squad. who knows though, this is the first time this tourney is being played, so crazy shit could happen... :suomi:

Didn't Venezuela beat the DR twice last month in the Caribbean series?

I guess you can say revenge but it shows these teams are pretty close. I'd take Santana over Colon every single time.

Guillen, Abreu, Ordonez and Cabrera aren't slouches themselves. I think this line is pretty fair.

Personally I think DR will rock Venezuela this afternoon. Since it's early March, Santana vs Colon is pretty much out of the question. Zambrano is also a nut case who cant control himself if he gives up a homerun or even a hit. It's going to come down to power. DR has by far more power.

Overall if Guillen cant get on and Abreu and Cabrera fall anything short of great, this game will be over quickly.

Santana is stupid also.

The left-hander, who turns 27 years old next week, is excited about the opportunity to represent his country and face the formidable Dominican lineup that includes the likes of Albert Pujols, David Ortiz and Miguel Tejada.

3 of the best players in the world and you're excited.

LOL, Santana asked for the ball to take this start vs. the Domincan. he shows no fear and will roll today... Venezuala by a run.

Dominican has too much power, too many good players for one team, take the young guns and run...

Johan Santana made me some good scratch on Twins sides and unders last season. I put a small bet on Venezuela to win the whole thing.
