As if it's not loaded now with a bunch of fine teams? The Big East is back on the map. We just don't see the great players staying in college.

I never liked the Big East, Georgetown was our rival, even though they were not in our conference...that conference always had its own style of play....they only B.E. team I cared for was UCONN.

Look at the league now, Louisville and Notre Dame would realistically split against any Big Ten team.

I will take Chris Mullen for the block. :suomi:

I hated St Johns, but they and GTown were great games back in the 80's. The Big East was great back in the 80's. This year reminded me of those days. The conference is LOADED.

And so it goes......

Chris Mullen was an incredible scorer. Just think, he scored all those points without the benefit of the 3pt shot. Astounding!!

You guys forgot the other big men..Lebanese-born Rony Seikaly and Bill Wennington.

In 1985 when 3 Big East teams went to the Final Four..Boston College was a mere bucket away from being the fourth..lost a heartbreaker Regional Final in Dallas.

Walter Berry lives!! Carl Krauser of Pitt - same 'tude, same sneer and both have ability to take over a game by themselves

Remember that thug Jim Graham on G'town? kid was tough but effective. Jim Jensen from Nova might have been the best pure shooter in the conference. BC had a few good ones in John Garris, Jay Murphy and later Michael Adams. The cuse had the Pearl and the Sherm and Moeten?, Pitt had Jerome Lane who used to shatter backboards with his dunks -- good ol days!

Journeyman, I trust your right, I wasn't sure on first name but if we are talking about the same guy he was Georgetown's enforcer and was one of the first kids to shave his head. He used to knock opponents on their ass with the moving picks he'd get away with on his home court - his mates loved him.

I just saw the Hbo Documentary on 1985 Nova. Wow what a run and the greatest underdog tournament run ever.
