Since i have never "scalped", can someone explain to me what i would have to do to score money here? Seems obvious, but explain it anyway...

For an example:

1. Bet 1340 to win 1000 @ -134

2. Bet 1000 to win 1370 @ +137

The worst you can do is break even. Otherwise you make $30.

Assuming you get the wagers in at those numbers.

Sometimes they change before one can get them in & then
one can be screwed & fucked at the same time.

So basically its a hedge, you are locking in some sort of winner, GIVEN that the prices stay the same between the time you put your cash on the fav and dog...pinnacle seems likea shop where they will move those lines fast if you tried to make a major play on one side before you could grab the other side..

that is the second time I have found you saying this.... IT IS FALSE.... you can set up the scalp so you profit wethe the DOG wins or wehter the FAVORITE wins....

At pinny you can put in the bets simulatenously, so it's not a problem, it's only when the numbers are at two different shops you can and will eventually get caught out

Yes you have "caught me" for the second time. But in this case, i ask you, Does the DOG have to win before there is ANY + to this?

Again we will watch this this season. As you mentioned there is times when its the other way around, but very very few. Not trying to be agrumentive at all, just pointing this out. If you will please be sure to point out any scalp where the chalk "has" to win.

Again, you guys please point out anytime that the chalk has to win before it becomes profitable. I still think the "most" and a very high % of scalps involves the dog winning.

You can shift the numbers around to win more on the dog, more on the fave or equal on both.

Sure you can vary the size of the wagers, but then you are heavy to one side on the other.

In this case lay 1340 to win 1000
bet 1000 to win 1370

If the chalk wins you win the lay bet of 1000
and the dog side of this looses 1000
So its a "play even" prop.

If the Dog wins you win 1370
And the chalk side looses 1340
So the + is 30 .

You can shift the numbers so that your PROFIT is exactly the same wether the DOG wins or wether the FAVORITE wins.....

or you can set the numbers so you win 1/2 regardless of who wins....

there is no relevence to DOGS or FAVORITES.... the numbers are simply rounder & work better with dogs to conceptualize, that is all....

if you use the "To Win" window at Pinny, it makes more sense.....

on any GIVEN SCALP, you can set it up so the dog wins or the favorite wins....

EXAMPLE

DOG +150

Favorite -140

if you scalp that & DOG wins you can win 10$ on 100$ unit bets (lose -140$ win +150$)......

HOWEVER

if you bet LESS on the DOG & MORE on the FAVORITE, you can set it up so that you win 10$ if the favorite wins

dont have the exact numbers, because I dont have a calculator.... but perhaps Santo can show us the numbers to illustrate my example

The numbers are not round, but it is definatly doable....
