That's sick. Wizards need to sign him this offseason(he's an unrestricted free agent if I remember correctly)...bring the big fella back home, and also FINALLY give us some semblance of a post threat, currently the only thing stopping us from become one of the upper-tier teams in the NBA.

Wilcox is a beast. Great pic Clip.

Screw that...already broke my heart to let Dixon and Blake go. Get me a local product back here. And we need a post threat desperately.

What's insane is of the top 10 scorers in the NBA this season, only one is 30(AI).

The rest are younger, closer to 25 than 30, and include Anthony and James(21), Arenas and Wade(24), Brand and Redd(26), Nowitzki and Kobe(27), and Pierce(28).

The list doesn't even include relative youngers like T-Mac, Chris Bosh, JRich, Rashard Lewis, Tony Parker, Manu, Shawn Marion, Pau Gasol, or Dwight Howard.

T-Mac and Yao are 26 and 25, respectively. That's insane.

Him and Kobe have seemingly been around forever...but it's all because they came out of high school. Kobe's only 27 and has three rings!

I think what you'll see is a lot of these guys burn out at a younger age. The truly special ones might make it till their late 30s, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of players burn out once they hit 34 or so.

Then again, with the competitive drive they all seemingly possess, maybe they'll all play effectively till their late 30s. Who knows. The NBA's never seen an era like this before.

Injuries will beat some of these guys. Players are still developing physically into their early 20s, but instead of doing it on 30 game college seasons they are doing it in 80+ NBA seasons.

Wilcox is going to get a max contract and he won't be worth it. If the Wiz want to do that, feel free. I smell Adonal Foyle and Mehmet Okur coming all over again. The kid is a nice addition, but he just isn't all-around skilled enough to take over games. The money he gets will be too much, but lets face it he isn't the only one out there in this situation. Gotta be good to be tall and athletic!

I agree with this, he wasted two years, he came out of Md basically played a half a season, and went on to win the Championship with the Terps...he was very raw at the time, and really needed to stay in college, instead he went to L.A. and wasted away on the bench not getting any PT and not getting a chance to grow, something he needed as much as any player!

Leaving early really hurt Wilcox' growth , clearly was not ready , he basically had zero basketball skills, just a raw atheltic specimen with a perfect power forwards frame, plain and simple.

I am not sure he will ever live up to what he could have had he just stayed in college.
