Let me first start off by saying that I am by no means usually a "big limit" player in the field of online poker...
I usually play the 5/10 or 10/20 rooms....

I have been playing at PokerStars for real money since about November of last year ...I used to play for fun, and only the freerolls on their site...
As I wrote about it here last year, I deposited $75, and made it all the way up to $4000 (after winning $1800 in 2nd place for a tourney)....then continued to play and lost it down to $900...Withdrew...and enjoyed it...

I then continued to deposit smaller amounts, ranging from $50-$300 or so...At first I was winning some, getting my deposit up to $1500-$2000...but would proceed to lose it all back...

Lately I deposited a total of probably about $3000 in the last 30-45 days...and lost it all eventually....I was playing the lower limit tables, and always getting crushed with people who would stay in no matter their hand...and they always seem to hit when it hurt me the most

Fast forward to this past Sunday....I deposited $96.....I was playing the $3/6 tables, and went down to about $52.....Eventually I hit a run...and went up to about $200 and then decided to slowly up the tables I was sitting at, as I won more....$5/10.....$10/20....

When I eventually got up to about $800 I moved to the $30/60 tables....WOW..What a difference....People were actually playing poker....I got my account up to about $4500...and then proceeded to bring it down to about $1100...I decided to play in a $200 (9 player) tourney and I would withdraw the rest and call it a nice profit...
I won the tourney ($900) and decided to play a little more...After going back down to the $900 again I said that was it....
I attempted to withdraw and noticed I was not allowed to for 48 hours after my last deposit....

so I went AGAIN to a $30/60 table, and then it happened....HAND AFTER HAND....just tearing it up....I eventually made it up to $13,000 and started requesting my withdrawals....I emailed customer support several times as I am nervous by nature and wanted to make sure all was well (I also requested hand histories through email automatically when I won a lot of hands in a row, just so I had them for future reference if something happened)...

Customer support was great, and always got back to me within 2 hours with detailed emails, not the typical "form" emails....
I also requested access to the larger amount tables ($100/200) and I was told Lee Jones the poker manager would review and contact me in some time....THE NEXT DAY I got a call from another poker manager who was very pleasant and accomodating....

This is a brag/tell my story/praise customer support for people who may be thinking of depositing due to their recent promotion

I have learned that the higher limit tables are the place to play on there...I got absolutely creamed on the $5/10 and even $10/20 for the most part, until my run.....

like anything else...KNOW WHEN TO QUIT....I easily lost $2000-$2500 in 15/20 mins time without a sweat....Luckily I was able to win it back...a lot of winning hands seem to come in a row for me every time on there....if the table is cold for me, it seems to STAY cold for a while...when it's hot, it's hot

i play on the ".net" side and i find playing at the 5/10 tables is the WORST because you get players going ALL IN BEFORE the flop - only to see everyone fold - and these players are all happy the won a pot of like $20

what also makes me laugh is the flop with come all one suit - and thus the possibility of a flush is very real. so someone will have a flush (say hearts) and get called by someone and when the hand plays out we see the person calling had something like 2/10 offsuit making you wonder WTF this person was thinking

Congrats !! Very nice story. For every one of those there will be a 1000 on the other side of the coin. Good to read something positive from the on-line casino's.

Pokerstars is the pinnacle of the online poker world. Pun intended.

Totally agree...

Everything there is top notch..
Software is always working, they squlech chat priv. for the idiots
They reply to your email in a personal way and promptly

the ONLY complaint I would say is that the withdrawals take some time...took about the full 72 hours....I know they have to worry about security, but you'd think after this while of me playing, and never having a problem they could speed it up....

Winky- The $5/10 and $10/20 are horrible for me on there....As soon as I got a big enough of a bankroll, I got the hell out of those and the $30/60 was like free money!!!!

Thanks everyone...I was just so ecstatic that I wanted to share

No offesne but it sounds like u got hot and are playing way over your head. Playing 30/60 wiht 900 dollars is a disaster waiting to happen.
If you think 30/60 is easier than 5/10 because people"play poker" you are in for a rude awaking when the cards balance out you will get crushed.
Quitting while ahead is nonsense. There are several reasons to stop playing and being up isnt one of them. You are positive ev or you arent.

I started playing online a year and a half ago working my way up to 5/10 no limit ( still play about half 2/4 NL aswell) Ive made very good money but I do not take shots and play over my head. I see guys doing it all the time. Players who I know suck have one hot night. Instead of dropping there usaual 600 dollars in a 1/2 NL game (which Ive played as recently as 3 months ago) they get hot sucked out a few pots and win 2 grand for the night. They moved up and usually get spanked. Every once in a while one of them will continue his suckout streak and maybe get up 5 or 10 grand in the 5/10 room. They give it all back and plenty more. Now theyve had a taste.

Im not trying to insult you in any way. Maybe you are a great player. From from the way you talk you s ound like a -ev player with a short term mindset. I started my bankroll with 500 dollars and have turned that into over 6 figures in a year. You have 13 k now. Realize you got lucky and get some books, learn the game and stop thinking short term. Set aside a bankroll and play limits based on that roll. Dont think of being up or down in a day. Long term is what counts.Unless you are a losing player in which case play for fun and relaized youre gonna lose.

PSis great and you will have no problem getting your money. However you mention wanting to play 100/200 limit. You should have atleast 60k and really 100 to play that high. And I really doubt your a winning player in that game. Good luck.

I like Pokerstars for tournaments and their fairly generous bonuses (I find I fulfill the rollover more quickly there than on other sites) but they've never had particularly great ring games. That's not surprising since Pokerstars gets so much exposure with regards to tournaments, but I'm more of a ring game player.
