In basketball if you take a team -2.5 when others get the game at -3.5 and the team wins by 4 on that bet you did not gain an advantage. You made the same amount of money as the people who got the game at -3.5.
In baseball if the best number is +118 and others get the game at +110 or worse, you just picked up 8 cents for your win.
This is a spread vs moneyline comparision. If you are talking moneyline in Football and Basketball there is no difference.

What sport do you think it is important "shop" for the best price.
I say NBA. I can't beleive the amount of games that are right by the number!!!
I'm sorry - show me a sport where you don't need the best line(s) to win in the long run? All sports. Impossible question!Fishhead said:Tough question
For me personally, it would be the NBA.............perhaps just because of the sheer amount of games and the short time one has to shop..........coupled with as you said, strong numbers.
One could make a point for baseball and football too...........VERY good question and as stated, a tough one.
