I played high school golf. In a regional tournament one of the opposing players didn't putt out on hole 8. He had about 2" left, and it was a gimme, but he didn't putt it out. Nobody in my group, including myself said anything. When all players came into the clubhouse the scores were tallied. My school had lost by 1 stroke. Dejected my friend and I were talking about the round and I mentioned the dude not putting out. My friend said "go tell coach!" I did and to my surprise his face wasn't excited. He reluctantly brought it up to the director, and he confirmed it with the player. The other team went from celebrating to confusion. There was a playoff to determine the winner and in the playoff my school won. My coach didn't celebrate. He was emberrassed. My team mates found it hard to celebrate also. Because we brought up rules when it was convenient was like cheating, and in hindsight, I wish I hadn't said anything. Buck should feel the same way about Americas victory yesterday.

I say, Do Whatever It Takes To Win! You did nothing wrong, the other player is the dumb-@ss for breaking the rule simple as that. Yesterdays game and play are different because it wasn't as obvious/clear-cut as yours was and is basically a judgement call left in the hands of some guy that may or may not have a seperate agenda going on. And as for your coach and teammates, well they really need to stop being such giant pu$$ies! The other team cheated and lost, you guys won, so if they're too stupid to be happy about it then they deserve a big :fckmad:

The bottom line is that this classic is to promote baseball in the rest of the world - and a homer call like that doesn't do much promotion.

its tough to promote baseball to the rest of the world if the US doesn't make it out of round 2.

Its not as if we would have lost the game as the US may have scored 10 runs in the 9th, but it was an embarrasing call nonetheless.
