How Does Wisconsin Get a Bid? Seton Hall?

Did the committee not look at Wisconsin's resume? They were 1-8 on the road with their only win over Penn State. They lost at home to North Dakota State. They did beat some solid schools but every good win was at home. 1 win on the road is ridiculous.

Also, someone please ask Duke if Florida State or Seton Hall is a better team. FSU beat Duke once and got screwed by a bad technical foul call to lose by 1 the other game while Duke beat Seton Hall by more than 7 touchdowns (53 points). The Hall also lost by 6 TD's to Connecticut and got embarassed last week by Rutgers in the Big East tourney.

It's a corrupt system.

Ask how George Mason got a bid when their leading scorer is suspended.
Thomas O'Connor - George Mason AD is on the committee. What a coincidence.
Ask why Tennessee is the 2 seed and Gonzaga isn't.
Mike Slive - SEC Commissioner is on the committee. What a coincidence.

Ask why Utah State is in the tournament
Karl Benson - WAC Commissioner is on the committee. What a coincidence.

Air Force had 18 wins that were non D1 or not top 150 in the RPI, no wins in the top 50 RPI

Seton Hall had some good wins, including a couple on the road

Air Force took Cinci's or FSU's spot

Wisconsin also won at Minnesota in the Big Ten where they had a 9-7 record. They also beat Marquette in the preseason and played at Wake Forest and at Pittsburgh during the preseason. They have wins over Ohio St, Iowa, Michigan St, Indiana and an RPI of 23 with a SOS of 7, pretty easy to see why Wisconsin is in.

I don't have a major problem with either Wisconsin or Seton Hall getting in although there were others more deserving. I have a big problem with Cincinnati not getting in, particularly how they played down the stretch.

Enough with that #1 conference stuff. The Big East is the best conference. The ACC is second.

Viking,
You will love Chester Taylor. Thats one guy I wish the Ravens would have resigned.

Amen! Come on Big10 fans, I'll compromise here and say you might be better than ACC but there has never been a conference as strong as this years Big East, only one that comes close is ACC from several years ago that had 4 teams who could legitimately win title. Got to look Mr. RPI in the eye and tell him he is wrong even though you like what he is dishing.

Beginning to think that...especially if we can get him some lineman...Pro Bowler Birk back, Pro Bowler McKinney, and trying to sign Pro Bowler Hutchinson!! He might have a great season!

RE: Seton Hall - respect all arguments against them being in, but that said I have a hunch you will have to put up with them in the Sweet 16 -- just watch!

Wisconsin is a pick 'em against Arizona. If one truly believes that they should not be in this tournament......you would have to be hitting Arizona pretty hard. Wisconsin did have some trouble on the road....but had a ton of success at home. These games are neither at home or on the road (considering that the other team is NOT at home).

Wisconsin would be favored by 5 over Florida State at a neutral site.

Seton Hall would be favored by 2 over Florida State at a neutral site.

Why would we ask Duke who is better? Is Duke the commissioner of omniscience in respect to college rankings?

I submit that we should ask North Carolina State if FSU or SH is better. Florida State went there and lost by 22 (three touchdowns and a two point conversion on the last). Seton Hall went there and won by 18 (2 touchdowns and 2 safeties).

I guess in this circumstance we cannot ask Duke or NC State.......but they did ask Craig Littlepage and he decided Seton Hall was better.

Don Dollars,
Great point bringing up those NC State games. However, I do think FSU is better than Seton Hall and about even with Wisconsin. I also think Arizona is very very overated so I'll stay away from that game with Wisconsin.

Let's also hope they didn't ask Littlepage to decide. He was supposed to leave the room when they discussed FSU.

It is fun to argue this stuff. This is the GREATEST TIME OF YEAR.

I really think Cinci got screwed over the worst.

Best of luck

The team that may have gotten screwed the worst is Hofstra. I am not saying that they deserved the bid over teams like Cincy or Air Force or any of the valley schools. But where they got screwed was that they beat George Mason twice in the last 2 days, by double digits at home and by 9 in their conference tournament. They lost in the finals of their conference tournament, yet George Mason took their bid away.

i think i'm going to be on Wisconsin vs. AZ....team is deserving, and it'll be interesting to see how AZ guards Tucker. Cam Taylor will be up for this game after having an AWFUL big ten game vs. IU

Once again, how does Seton Hall and Wisconsin get bids. They were both so overmatched. I sure think Cincy or FSU would have competed better than these teams.

give me a break. How does Wisconsin get a bid? By having 6 top 50 wins maybe. Come on. Yeah they got beat, big deal, it doesn't mean they weren't deserving.

Maybe FSU should get more than one top 50 win next time.

Every Wisconsin win worth a damn was at home. They were overrated and proved it today. FSU beat Duke and finished 5th in the ACC. And they also beat Purdue by 40. Thats the same Purdue that beat Wisconsin.
