ChiSox Record 2006: 1-0
Started the year off with a win and am still taking things slow here in spring training. Going to make a small wager on a ChiSox game today (which starts in about 2 hours).
Oakland A's ML
Yes I know the White Sox are in a revenge situation here but from what I've heard we're sending Charlie Haeger, Ray Liotta, and Javier Lopez to the mound today. The last report I saw had Haeger listed as the starter while an earlier one had Liotta as the starter. Whatever the case, neither of these guys are starting material and I would not be surprised if the ChiSox starter got pulled today after 2 innings. Haeger is our knuckleball project and Cooper has been working with him but so far he's had some trouble getting his control down. Oakland is starting Joe Blanton from what I hear and if it came down to a 3 inning game of Blanton vs. Haeger, right now I would take Blanton as I don't trust Haeger...yet. Only thing that scares me into making this a small small play is the motivation factor for the ChiSox here today. All our BP pitchers have been given a "2nd chance" sort of as Dustin Hermanson's back is giving him some pain already and Ozzie has said he's very concerned about it and will be watching the BP youngsters closely to see if anyone can break through. Also, Oakland beat Chicago about a week ago so the White Sox may want a bit of revenge. They are currently 1-0 on that little "revenge" angle as they avenged their spring training opener loss to Colorado when they re-matched them.
Again, small play for me so good luck everyone!
