... other than the obvious 4 or 5 that had a legitimate gripe about not making the Big Dance.

I know Gary Williams initially turned down MD's invitation. Even though I know he will coach his ass off, his team is in the dumps. I see MD winning only one game but what about the motivation of some of these other NIT teams.

There's still plenty of $$ to be made Tues and Wed !~ :money8:

Most teams with no motivation are teams that thought they would make it to the NCAA - but those teams are high seeds with byes in the first round.

The only one I can see is South Carolina. Played 4 games in 4 days and almost made it to the NCAA - heartbreak on Sunday, two days off and they play again Wednesday laying 7 and a hook.

I guess I am looking to see if anyone has any local coverage on some of these teams where the coach has tipped their hand at all.

I mean, can Delaware State and Lipscom really even compete or are they that motivated to be there?

Delaware State travels across the country on next to no notice to play a decent Northern Arizona squad? And the MEAC was horrible this year.

Is temple really motivated with Chaney out tonight and they are giving 7?

Point is - all NCAA bound teams are plenty motivated. Not all NIT teams give a crap. Just trying to see if any locals have seen anything in the local papers about NIT teams packing it in already.

I expect a strong effort out of Colorado at home in order to end the season on better note than their beatdown at the hands of A&M.

I remember thinking this last year and Maryland actually played pretty well in the N.I.T. Hard to believe how much Md has fallen off the past 3 years.

Journey

I think their young 'deer in the headlights' look from last year is gone.

Caner Medley was quoted in the Baltimore Sun basically saying the team had no motivation after not even getting a look by the NCAA Tourney Committee (not that he had anything to do with but about 2 of MD's wins!!)

I just do not see a team that for the most part quit (outside of winning two late games against below avg. teams) caring AT ALL.

There was talk that Cincinnati was going to have trouble getting 5 guys to wear a uniform after they were "screwed out of" a NCAA spot.

I could seriously see Cincy saying F this BS!

Canter Medley had an awful career, he never improved.

I do feel Delaware State is being thrown to the Wolves here. They have to see their next is also this week in an even tougher locale.

Cincy will have a point to prove.. and if they really want that Kennedy to be hired they btter show it.

Cincy is a go-With
