Of course you will. You may have to fly to the Caribbean to make a deposit though

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

The trouble is going to be getting money in and out of your account...not placing the bets.

My question is what if we have money in our accounts when the bill goes into effect? How would we get that money out? Would neteller be ok? Western Union?

I would say, Yes. Worst comes to worst, if you live near the Canadian or Mexican border just cross it with your laptop and connect in an Internet Cafe.

Cmon guys, this is not Armageddon here. For years, before computers, gambling on sports was illegal, yet we all found a way to get our action in. Basically, just because it may be illegal, its not like its going to stop. The problem here is that the US Govt is not getting their cut of the revenues. We will all be fine and we will all be able to continue to get action in.

Not everyone played before the internet and not everyone would want to do it without.

With the CURRENT govvt we have in power now, I voted "NO", we won't be able to place a bet online a year from now.

Clip, glad to see someone that truly understands how simple an issue this really is. Stop the money and you stop the action, do we really think that banks will not comply with uncle sam's wishes? Not to sound like a paranoid mofo but this is quite feasable at this time.

Wouldnt an offshore bank account solve that problem?

Yes so long as I'm still alive, I'm Canadian. I'll even be able to make plays on my laptop from the US when travelling.

I think the problem is the goverment sees a way for terroristes to launder money through the Offshore market, atleast that's the BS line they feed us, if that's the case, you'll need a good lawyer if your caught when it's outlawed... Just my thought..

A year from now

I need much more information to give you an accurate answer. How old is your computer? Did you buy it new or used? Do you have virus protection? How about a surge protector? The room that you keep it in -- what is the average temperature? Any chance of flooding or earthquakes? Crime rate statistics for your area would also be necessary for this investigation.
