i think it was 1978 cal state fullerton. total unknown got on a roll to the final eight before having an amazing comeback but losing to a top ranked arkansas. i remember the head line in the la times the morning after fullerton lost was cal st who is almpst cal st wow.

There cinderella run started in the PCAA confrence tourney, I think they were like the 5 seed in PCAA, they upset a 27 winLong Beach team, UNLV and Boyd Grants Fresno State team just to get tourney in first place. Then they had 2 more upsets before having Sidney Moncreif and Ron Brewer on ropes.

Fullerton had Greg Bunch, Larry Kennan, Donny Daniels, Greg Barrios.
