How can you get this call wrong umps?

I know Mexico wins but, how can you have a home run ball with the evidence of yellow paint , a big yellow circle :icon_conf , and have four umpires

have a group discussion , not even look at the ball?

USA will blame this on the timing of the tourney, even though every team had the same schedule.

oh by the way Roger Clemens claiming this is it for him...congrats Houston Astros on not trying to put some players around him, it's no wonder you have never won anything.

I dont know anything about this controversy

I blame it all on Vernon Wells. He was terrible the entire round with RISP.

Rob the home run ball landed about 10 feet up the rightfield foul pole, bounces back in play, the ump calls it in play off the wall, all four umps missed it... ESPN shows the Mexico manager holding the ball with a half dollar sized yellow dent in it,lol.

Yeah, you are right. No reason to get hostile when no one can even make the semis.

Not fair, JMan. They went to the World Series last year. If Clemens had pitched halfway decently in Game 1, the Astros might have won that game and the end result could have been entirely different.

Then in Game 7 the year before (against STL), he loses the game - 4 runs in 6 innings.

Also, the Astros bent over backwards by allowing Clemens to not go on road trips when he wasn't scheduled to pitch.

You really can't blame the Astros here. Clemens is a prima-donna and after a while, his act gets old. He can come back and pitch, or he can leave. Baseball will go on. I just don't want to follow the Clemens soap opera and blame someone else for his decisions.

Cincy, they wouldn't have been anywhere near the post season without him, he literally made one bad pitch in that game 7 two years ago, who knows maybe he got tired of losing 1-0.

Houston loses Kent and Beltran and still went to the WS, without him, lets see how they do....I'm not even a Clemens fan really...Astros organization is a joke.

I think the Astros did a great job and upper management was the reason they got so far. They decided to let the high priced offensive players go so they could afford arguably the best rotation in baseball by bringing Clemens and Pettite on board. Great moves in my opinion.

I really wonder what happening to US sports this year, and it cost me too, I could n't beleive Mexico last night....winning? +400 at some points.....didn't bet them ......arggg........and what about the Winter Olympics, no US Star made it on Alpine Skiing and some other categories where they were favor.
Next, the World Cup of Soccer and The FIFA World Champs of Basketball...are they gonna fall a part also?.....common the best sports nation in the world should be on top all year long!!!

These players were already on board....give me a break Clemens and the staff carried that management ...we shall see this year, i predict they fall flat, it didn't take a rocket scientist to ink Clemend and Andy Pettitte. The Bagwell debacle, is the latest blunder by the Astros management, they should have paid Clemens whatever he wanted, he made that team what it was the past two years, you cannot measure his intrinsic value to that organization...Just watch them win 80 games this year without him.....attendance will drop....they're a cheap team.

They probably won't win as many games this year...who can lose their #1 starter and not replace them with anyone because it is too late and still be as good?

The guy fucked them over big time if he does not come back. They can't go out and pay another #1 starter while waiting to see if their highest contract pitcher is returning.

Of course the staff carried that team...that is how the Astros put that team together. To be based around their staff. Clemens at his age was a gamble...Pettite was solid but overpaid...they have Oswalt. Not many teams can afford a staff like that PLUS a Beltran and Kent contract. That doesn't even mention Bagwell's overpaid ass.

They put together a great team and let guys go that needed to be let go in order to keep that staff in tact. Hard to knock a team that did as well as they did. Their team isn't built to score runs...but they did build a team to win games.

You can only go so far without an offense...While I agree you gobble up all the pitching and build around that , ala, Atlanta, Houston, Oakland ...my point is this team has never been much, they finally were that close and penny pinched it away....

I wonder how many people came out to see Houston just because of Roger Clemens, he was well worth the extra attendance.
