These college teams at end of halves and games, wait way too long to start offense.

They try to get cute and shoot in final second, end up with an awful shot almost every single time....Not sure why this is, is it bad coaching, you never see teams take advantage of the final minute , two for one situation either....but something that happened in almost every end of half and end of game today , they sit out top with the ball for the final 15-25 seconds, only to not get off any real shot, a low percentage shot at best.

Oh by the way only 2 of 8 games went over today....a combination of attrocious finishing around the rim ,and poor execution at the end of halves didn't help.

:pucking:

If you have a minute left, with the ball, maybe try and shoot with around 50 seconds left so you get two of the last three shots :103631605

I have noticed the same thing recently. Almost every time, waiting way too long and get a very bad shot.

What i don't understand, why stand 45 ft from the hoop with 35 seconds left and not start moving forward til you're at 10 seconds, they usually end up wasting the possession, and not even getting a shot off.

Why not have a play set up, clearly these teams do not have a set end of half play, its the guard out top trying to create and he starts too late.

You don't see the very top teams like Duke have this problem, same with the NBA teams that close out qtrs like the Spurs, this should be preached every day at practice.

I equate this to line shopping and getting the best number...95% of the time it won't matter but the times it does can be the difference between winning and losing.

i've noticed the 2 for 1 management myself alot in the tourney.....team gets a rebound with :52 sec left in half, go down, get a shot up within 10-12 seconds, and you will get 2 for 1, instead they let it run under :35 before shooting, insuring its the last shot "they" will get.....makes no sense...

game 1 today

Bradley does the same thing, guy stands there til about 7 on the clock, doesn't pass , you would think they could set a play and get some one to penetrate and dish out to a wide open shooter, instead he throws up a wild prayer, that has no chance....Pitt in double bonus too, it's called being on 'offense' yet they play it so cautiously in that spot.

Journey the shit pisses me off too. Last night I was watching chic ball before I called it a night and the dumbass L'ville coach with his team up about 5 points or so half way through the 2nd half decides to take the air out of the ball and make a move towards actually trying to score from outside the 3 pt. line with 5 seconds left on the shot clock. In between passing up open shots in the process. This totally killed their momentum and I don't have to tell you what happened to L'ville women team because of this.
