Do referees have too much impact on these games? I just looked at the box scores from all of todays games. In 6 of the 8 , one team had a 2-1 OR MORE advantage at the free throw line. These are just attempts, some of this could be worse if teams shot free throws better.

In these 6 games:
Duke 37-19 over GW
LSU 23-12 over Texas A&M
Alabama 25-13 over UCLA
Wichita 29-13 over Tennessee
Gonzaga 41-6 over Indiana
Washington 39-11 over Illinois

5 of the 6 with more attempts won, and 5 of the 6 covered. And it wasn't like these were blowouts or games where one team had to foul repeatedly. There was some of that fouling at the Duke and Zaga games, but they already had huge advantages going into the final minutes. And yes Indiana took a ton of threes against Gonzaga, that might explain why they only shot 6 free throws but that doesn't explain Gonzaga's 41 attempts.

in the other 2 games, Florida and BC won easy and covered and the free throws were pretty much even

desparate teams who are being outplayed will often commit more fouls.

agree but IMO those 6 games with the big differences weren't the result of desperate teams. Some of the fouls at the end, yes, but then I guess it is a vicious cycle, once a team sees the other side getting all the ticky tack calls, they usually fall behind on the scoreboard which leads them into spots where they have to desperate fouling at the end.

I am going to pay more attention to this at halftimes, I had a couple plays today where I backed teams who were getting outscored at the foul line in the 1st half and it just got worse in the 2nd

100% correct.

Intentional or not? I really don't know, but it definately happens.

I'm sure some degenerate sack of crap will call anyone who agrees a "crybaby" -- that's fine because stupid people say stoopid things.

Free throws need to be emphasized more by the coach. I think its their fault for players missing that many free throws
