Next year they need to get rid of the rule where conf teams can't play each other until the 3rd/4th round.

That way, we could have all Big 10 teams in one pod, they can call that pod the toughest ever and a Big 10 team will get into the Sweet Sixteen.

Why is everyone so quick to trash the Big10 this year? why the animosity for them...

Last year they had 1/2 of the final four, and i didnt see anyone saying they were the greatest conference ever...and they werent....they werent as great as that showing, but not as bad as this year's showing either.....

They simply have run into some better teams, and teams playing harder than them, in key games.....dont think losing to Gonzaga is embarassing....and mich state losing to George Mason now doesnt look so bad.....wisc and Iowa were dissappointing, yes, but ohio state has run into a very good Georgetown team....

I agree they have had a rough tourney, and not what was expected...but dont understand why everyone is trashing them.......

BUCS--Because the BIG TEN is the envy of every athletic conference in America when it comes to basketball/footbal........the two most revenue producing sports in the NCAA.

No conference can hold a candle to them over the past numerous years in that regard.

Jeolousy would be the first adjective that comes to my mind.

LOL

With that comment, I hope you see why people don't like the Big Ten:

ARROGANCE

Yup, they are better than the rest of us and we are all jealous. USC would lose 3 games in the Big Ten in football, Duke would never win a conference tournament. Thanks for proving my point.

I don't think Fish made those claims. Just stated the obvious, that when you take into account both football and basketball, the Big Ten is the best conference. People must hate the Big 10 as a whole for the same reasons that I hate the Yankees and Duke. 3 teams in the Elite 8 last year, and 2 in the Final Four. This year, a big disappointment. Nobody that has a clue said the Big Ten was even close to the best basketball conference this year.

The Big 10 is the most overated conference year in and year out in hoops and football - the basketball conference has MSU and a decent Illinois who disappears for years at a time - Indiana was a good program over a decade ago - the rest is shit - the football conference isn't remotely close to the SEC or the ACC - I mean - I hear people selling Iowa - Iowa sucks in all sports year in and year out - if they have a stellar year (top 25 for them) it's like they just won back to back rings

YES it is. All due respect Illini and Fish. Miami, Va Tech, Florida State and BC. Year in and Year out are Top 15 programs. Big 10 has Ohio State and Michigan in the Top 10 every year, the question is who are the rest. Penn State, nice story this year, where they been before that. Iowa, lots of hopes and hype but never a winner. Yes The ACC is a better football conference than The Big 10.

Miami and FSU are football over the last 15 years - if you don't believe me just turn your TV on any Sunday in the fall.

Lets compare teams:

ACC: Florida St, Miami, Boston College, Virginia Tech
3 of these 4 teams are always a BCS threat every year

Big 10: Ohio St, Michigan St, Michigan, Purdue, Iowa

The ACC wins the overall battle. Michigan hasn't done much over the last few years & is good for 2-3 losses, Purdue usually starts off hot but blows their wad mid season. Iowa usually looks good but runs into issues with OSU or Michigan. Mich St beats up some cupcakes, then gets exposed.

Miami and BC have been in the ACC for how long? Exactly. ACC has historically been a shit conference forever in football. After the improvements, it is now a pretty good conference. But it will take a lot of years before they can be considered a better football conference than the Big Ten.

When the football season starts you know VT, FSU and Miami are playing for one thing - other than Ohio State - can you really honestly say that about any team in the Big 10? they all just want to make it to the Rose Bowl.

You would see Miami and FSU at a 3/1 clip over any combination of teams from the Big Ten

How can you argue with that logic?

Penn St and Wisconsin are also in the Big Ten.

Penn St over the last # of years hasn't been a top quality team.I'm sure you could admit that. Wisconsin is another team that beats up on cupcakes & gets exposed eventually.
