That is the question. Who should I follow this year. I realize both are very good, but I would like to hear from those who have been at this forum for at least a few years. Who is the absolute man to follow on baseball. Choptalk is great as well. If you had to copy someone for the entire season, who would it be?

I would play Bucsfan, and here is why...Bucs always posts his bets at the same time everyday , like clockwork, you can count on him to come in this baseball forum some time around late afternoon, he is easy to follow if you're looking for someone to follow...It would be much easier to follow someone like Bucs or Chop, who post every day at the same time.

I probably won't start posting a card every day in the beginning of the season, as I don't have much feel til the first month or so passes.

Going by the past, Bucs usually does not post day games, during the week that often....if you're looking to follow anyone based on consistency in posting a card at a certain time, i would say he is the answer..he posts his card like clock work every day in the late afternoon.

I discovered a pretty cool feature of this site early this year and it is to subscribe to a particular thread. Whenever the thread starter posts you get emailed. I am constantly checking email while I work so this works great for me.

I have been able to grab about 40 units this baseball preseason tailing choptalk who has been posting in the tracking forum daily. This feature really makes it easy to tail.

Last year I tailed bucsfan, choptalk and bigshotmaxxx with great success. I know I am going to play all three again, just not sure a what mix. Definately all three poster's 3 unit plays but not all of their 1 and 2 unit plays.

ONly 2 weeks away!

If you're smart, you'll simply follow yourself! Following or tailing other people's picks can do nothing more than lead you to trouble. Sure you may win a game here and there and write a little note with an emoticon resating at the bottom, but in the end the best picks are your own and that's the bottom line! :thumbsup2:

Disagree completely.. Most people have no idea what they are doing (I personally don't know a damn thing about baseball).

I am very much looking forward to bucsfan, CHOPTALK, BIGSHOTMAXX, and Maxdemo's picks this season. Looking back at their track records, these are elite baseball cappers and I think it's a mistake to ignore what they are saying. bucsfan was like +160 something units last season, and +120 units in 2004. You cannot argue with that.

If you don't trust yourself, tagging along with someone who knows what they are doing is an excellent idea.

Torpedo's post is the worst I have ever seen. I have followed my own picks in the past, and had to meet my bookie once a week to pay up. I fyou aren't a great capper, the only way to win is by following a great one. All you need is discipline, and to keep your unit sizes in proportion with the capper you choose to follow. The only way to lose is if the capper loses. Obviously this is a possiblity, but I guarantee you if Bucsfan has a winning season, I will too. Just keep your units at a size where you can take a losing streak, and have some discpline and you will be just fine. No offense but that is a horrible post torpedo.

Torpedo,

The bottom line is he is talking out of his ass. I am sure he is a very nice guy, but he just has no idea what he is talking about.

Sounds like you have a money management problem. Take the top 5 cappers at this forum last season. The top 5 all won around 100 units or more last season. If you would have played the plays in the exact unit size of one of those top 5 cappers last season you would have won the same amount as those top cappers.

What kind of trouble is that leading anyone into?

Slightly misguided but essentially true.

Make your own plays. Watch and read everything, but make your own plays. Not much to be learned by blindly following others. If you're trying to learn how to ride a bike does it make more sense to get on one and maybe fall a few times, or does it make more sense to watch others ride past you all day?

Make your own picks, win some, lose some, but learn more every day.

Anyone else play all 3?

I imagine if you combined the plays of the best 100+ cappers, and didn't play the ones they disagreed on, you could get well into +200 or even +250 units, no?

Or am I missing something?
