As players, one can pick and choose their spots and attack accordingly.

The bookmaker on the other hand has to set lines for numerous games and/or different events.............and stay on top of the action these all recieve, as well as the general line movement of these games at other shops so as to not be out of whack with their lines.

Keep in mind that this is a BIG ADVANTAGE to one as a player doing battle against the bookmaker.

The moral of this.........

STAY DISCIPLINED, IN CONTROL OF YOUR EMOTIONS, AND IN CONTROL OF YOUR BANKROLL AT ALL TIMES...........THINK LIKE A GENERAL GOING TO WAR.

VIKING--For a young man, you exhibit great discipline and savvy in the sportsbetting world.

Not sure if I would put you at GENERAL status yet, but you cut through some of the lower ranks very quickly.

The bookmaker is like the dealer in blackjack. The player has to hit first which leaves them the chance to bust first. All the bookmaker has to do is put the lines out there and let "you" bust first! Same principal.

Not exactly.

There should be no reason for one to ever go bust if you read this forum on a regular basis.

Big advanage the book has, they only have to be "right" 48% of the time.

Make no mistakes about it, the bookmaker has many more advantages in the grand scheme of things.

However, what I have pointed out here is one where the PLAYER/BETTOR has the upper hand in such a way that they can expose a bookmaker..........even the best of the best of them!

I am not saying the Book can't be beaten, but the average player that doesn't put in the time, HAS no chance over time.

We never have to be right. You do. 97 percent of you do not know a mistake in the line when you see one. 98 percent of you just guess.
The battle between us and the wise is short lived and is done before
you the regular bettor even roll out of bed and log on. Here in Vegas
all we have to do is give you comps to the buffet , a few drink tickets,
some kleenex for for your crying, sheets of paper with pertinent numbers on them and pretend lke we are your friends to keep you in our places and losing forever. We never have to be right because 97 percent of you will always be wrong in the long haul. I could go on and on but I wont.

I'm the Gomer Pyle of sports betting, I hope to be general one day. Just like that little general insurance guy.

Books can't lose as a whole. They could take on 55% bettors with no juice, and come out ahead. The players beat themselves by poor money management. Human greed kills almost all bettors. I learned that lesson once, and I'm glad I learned it early on in my sportsbetting career.

Half the replies in this thread have nothing to do with the original post. The advantages the book has over the bettor has nothing to do with OPs post, and is just regurgitating stuff we already know. He just wanted to point out that we are able to pick our spots which we can use to our advantage.

Didn't know that all of our posts were receiving letter grades, but hopefully I squeezed by with a D+.

Just that it's funny when people argue with the OP about something that had nothing to do with his post.

Understandable how a few misunderstood the meaning of the thread.

Your last sentence is basically what the point trying to be made is.

Bettors as you suggest, can use this to their advantage.............as it IS AN ADVANTAGE.

You could not be more wrong where it concerns the bookmaker. The closer they are to market the better off they are though...unless you manipulate your market by booting, limiting, or good marketing.
