Does anyone make bets like this?

I guess I have really never thought of this , or if I have I cant remember but a buddy has been doing this with quite success. He will play Two 2 teasers Buy a point playing both sides to hit a 10 point middle and win both teasers. Does anyone do this or what would this be considered? Seems pretty decent but maybe I missing something.

A double middle? It's risky since there are 4 result possibilities.

I sometimes play 2 teasers, repeating one pick in each and playing both sides on the other pick. Ex for tonight (5pt teaser)

Teaser 1:
Phoenix -0.5
Raptors +3.5

Teaser 2:
Phoenix -0.5
Knicks +6.5

Everything's cool if Phoenix wins and I get a free shot at a middle.

Bookies get rich off of people doing stuff like this. You can't out run it.

I'm guessing that we're doing the same thing, except that I'm picking one side instead of letting lady luck decide on both.

I believe it is bad value.

You are doing well as you hit both of the above, but all you need is one of the 4 scenarios to not pan out and you're in trouble...

Also, you're risking 100 to win 76.32...

If you make 100 of these wagers, you would need to hit above 57% to show a profit....

Total Donkey Stuff

Teaser bets are total sucker bets typically, almost impossible to win except in the NFL.

And now we have to play BOTH sides of teasers on top of it.

Not only will it lose, but it is so far away from the universe of true advantage play, I don't even know where to begin.

Take up poker. Any sports bettor who thinks this is a viable strategy likely has no chance to ever win.

Thanks for the replys.....I have only tried it a few times ...but he seems to look for a game that is going to be close. He started doing during opening round and had profited from it but it kinda puzzled me as well...
I will try to explain it to him and not let him get to deep. .....lol

you are doubling your risk as most books will allw you to take both sides or "middle" a teaser

you can take #705 clippers -.5 And #706 hou +10.5 in the same bet- payout is the same

then take your other game the same way

the way you are doing it, if your games split - you lose both wagers

by taking both sides in 2 diff teasers if your games split all you pay is juice

Did this with another person in the Missouri Valley Conference last year, playing 4 team teasers on 2 games....made money for the year taking both sides. I didn't keep records of it but it came out profitable...we didn't bet every game but home teams almost always won and games were always close. Had + points on each side usually or pk with the home team and +10 with the other...made a killing last season...didn't even play one this year but last year was very lucrative...we also knew the conference inside and out last season. I'm sure you could've done it with the big 10 this year if you picked your right spots...home teams win majority of the time and the 5 pts usually covers it but have no idea how it came out...again just did this last year with MVC.
