Just a curious question.

If you have kids, do they know you bet on sports?

Do they REALLY know how much you wager?

If they wanted to bet on sports later in life would you advise for it or against it?

My son does not know that I bet on sports. Of course, hes only 11 weeks old so the only thing he knows is where his mothers boob is. In time, he will be taken under my wing and trained properly at handicapping.

My question would also be. Can you remember seeing your parents ever play cards?

My daughters don't know, and I don't want them to know because kids can't keep their mouths shut and they would tell their friends/teachers who would freak out. When they are older, I will probably let them in on it, might be a good way to teach responsible $$ management in life, not just gambling. Hopefully by then it will be much more common, legal, socially acceptable, etc.

I have played cards with my parents, but never for $$, just for fun.

Yes, but then my elder son also plays a few games for $10-$20 and he's 35 working in the securities industry. He has a reasonable sense of the amount I play and is instructed where to go to get the details necessary to withdraw my funds should I become deceased.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

I have a 17 yr old daughter that knows I gamble and sometimes will help me pick some games...and wins some games just by guessing. I want her to see the good and bad times of gambling so that she can see its not all easy $$. From what I can tell she does not have the addictive personality that I have...and I thank god for that.:pope:

My daughter who is 22 now, thinks it is kind of neat that her father is in the gambling business. She has been to the Dominican and Costa Rica to see me
and she is fascinated about the offshore business. She's been with me during the good times and the hard times...wouldn't have it any other way.By the way, she is an aspiring artist and level headed, not like me.

I hope not.

My kids are too young 8 and 6. There are a lot of adult's that don't understand what it takes to be successful at it so I don't think my kids need to be exposed to it yet. If and when they gamble(kind of hope they don't) I will need to explain to them the "Real odds" of them being successful at it, not the bullshit they will hear from their friends about how "easy" it is..

My kids are 8 & 10 and I think they may have a clue. Their Dad's unhealthy intrest in total points scored in games who's outcome is already determined may be something of a tipoff to them.
