Vince Young stock dropping, looks like a mid first rounder now.

I could not see what all the hype was, he was a great college player but so unpolished as a QB...he is comparable to McNair (as a collegian) minus the cannon arm...at best he is a project at the pro level.

Really? Unpolished? I thought his arm angle was kinda funky but he showed major heart when the game was on the line. I believe who ever drafts him will great value if he slips to the middle of 1st round.
Didnt he have a very high completion rate? And is kinda quick, I would take him # 1 among the qb's this year.....
It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds...

He's a project, his arm angle , accuracy, he doesn't have a rocket arm really ...I wouldn't touch him....a lot of rumors he has dropped to around 13-15 area.

The Wonderlick test score didn't help, and he has an agent that appears to be outclassed, I am hearing Young is getting a lot of bad advice from his 'people' ...he travels around with a posse too.

Being a great college playmaker, doesn't necessarily add up to anything when it comes to playing NFL QB.

He looks much more interesting as a mid first rd pick, then a number 1 or 2.

I think he would be a better receiver than an NFL QB.

I would like to see if Kordell Jr can read defenses and make that split second read properly. I doubt he can.

Young 'impressive' at workout for NFL scouts

By CHAREAN WILLIAMS

STAR-TELEGRAM STAFF WRITER

<BODY.CONTENT>AUSTIN – Quarterback Vince Young had an “impressive” workout for the NFL scouts on Wednesday at the University of Texas.
Young, who is bypassing his senior season with the Longhorns to enter the draft, measured 6-foot-4 1/2 inches and weighed 228 pounds. He ran one 40-yard dash in a hand-held 4.58 seconds.
The Longhorns’ Pro Day attracted 130 scouts and 85 media members.
Young threw 55 passes with five incomplete and one drop. He used four wide receivers. They were Texas teammates David Thomas, Ahmard Hall, Brian Carter and former high school teammate and Idaho player Daniel Smith. Young caught one pass on a trick play.
“I feel like I did a good job. I stayed relaxed, poised and had fun,” Young said. “You hear so much that 'Vince is not working out. Vince is not doing this and that.' I wanted to go out and show them that I am working out.”
The Houston Texans, who have the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft, sent 10 representatives, including head coach Gary Kubiak. The Tennessee Titans, who pick third overall, sent seven representatives.
“I love this guy. He’s got a big arm,” Kubiak said. “He was very impressive.”
Kubiak said he will attend only two college pro days. The other will be at Southern Cal on April 2.
Other notables attending the workouts were Miami coach Nick Saban, Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy and Cowboys quarterback coach Chris Palmer.
Another coach, Tennessee’s Jeff Fisher, is scheduled to fly to Austin later tonight and visit with Young.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Austin is the home of the University of Texas, and home to the Longhorns' annual Pro Day, where the school's draft-eligible football players work out for the NFL's scouts, coaches and general managers. You will always find a large crowd at this event -- especially since Texas is known for having a fantastic football program that annually places many players in the NFL.
In fact, Texas has had one of its players drafted into the NFL since 1938. That's at least one Longhorn taken in the last 67 drafts, the longest streak of any college or university. Texas also holds the record for the most players taken in a single draft -- 17 in 1984, although the draft was longer then.
The schedule ...

Among the team personnel in attendance were three key members of the Texans (owner Bob McNair, head coach Gary Kubiak and GM Charley Casserly), Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson, Dolphins head coach Nick Saban and general manager Randy Mueller, Titans general manager Floyd Reese and offensive coordinator Norm Chow, Rams defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, Ravens quarterbacks coach Rick Neuheisel, and new Cowboys quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer. Titans head coach Jeff Fisher will visit Texas tonight and Tennessee will have a private workout with Vince Young Thursday morning.
The main event started at 3:15 p.m. -- Young throwing. He started off 7 out of 7. In all, he had a 40-minute workout in which he threw from under center as opposed to out of the shotgun. It gave team personnel an opportunity to evaluate him that way since he worked out of the shotgun predominantly at Texas. He impressed everyone with his arm strength, quick delivery and accuracy. Young made great strides today.
After Young's workout, Bert's annual barbecue took place. I'm not sure whether guys come down here more for the barbecue or the workout!
Following the workout in the bubble and the great food, Young went into the main meeting room with Texas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Greg Davis for a Chalkboard Session, where team representatives got the chance to ask Young questions about his on-field decision-making in different situations.
The results …

I've always said this guys was just over hyped by the National Championship.

Shit, the guy played in a shitty conference. (AND YES THE BIG 12 WAS GARBAGE!), running an offense that only show cased him and his feet. Unlike Matt Lienart, he never ran a true passing, high caliber, complicated offense.

Personally, I felt he'd end up being a Tight End when it was all said and done.:bigfinger

Never got the fascination with all of this conjecture...

Predict a game and you can win money, but absolutely nothing will come from these predictions. Some get so PASSIONATE about them, too.

Obviouslly people find some value in this..but I'll be damned if I can see what it is.

The Big 12 was GARBAGE !! Well it was kind of a down year for the Big 12 this year. But take a look at the Big 12 Conference in those Bowl Games.
If they are GARBAGE, the rest of the country is REALLY in the LANDFILL !

Who knows what this "kid" will turn into? I do know one thing he beat the most powerful Pac-10 team almost by himself!

I rather doubt that he will slip as far as some here might think in the draft, as in most things time will surely tell.

I doubt that he will fall too much. Theres always Al Davis to pick him up and add to his collection of garbage.
