I'd like to send a few grand in cash via Western Union to Pinnacle.

Does this raise any red flags with WU and/or the IRS?

i've sent tens of thousands of dollars through western union and have never had any problems.

anything transfer over $3,000 requires your social security number...so there is a paper trail.

The problem with sending money to Pinnacle by WU is that you have to use your real name. Other books you can use a fake name.

I don't use W. U. but seems to me the "problem" isn't so much the sending as the "receiving". At least if your concern is the IRS.

A one time transfer like this might be alright. But if you start sending a few like this to different receiver names, you might get red-flagged later. I did not have any problems for five years, but this year WU finally cracked down and questioned everything I was doing. Now my WU's get blocked. Many others are in the same boat.

With all do respect to Neteller users. In my opinion, I think that the Neteller users will be targeted by the IRS in the near future. They handle a large amount of money from US Residents.

If you live in the US and registered with a US Address and request withdrawals, etc. The IRS is not just going to sit-back and do nothing about it. That is the same if you have large amount of bank wires coming into your bank account.

You're not going to spent all your winnings in Canada.

Uncle Sam wants your money.

I agree w/ that statement...and just because its a Canadian Company does not make it any safer. If the US Govt wanted the info all they have to do is ask...I for one dont think that Neteller would withhold info if asked.....JMO

I respect your view but

IMO klowinn that is PARANOIA ...

they can track ANY method if they so choose equally and intantly so whichever way you fund your account klowninn all the time can be pulled up instantly if its electronic , a record is kept somewhere

its all the same you think they will go after the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of neteller users? they might tell neteller to shut down US customers that I agree but not go after the people withdrawing 300$

come on man ...plus the law on this HUGE GRAY AREA has not even been passed yet so until it IS passed ( IF and a HUGE IF its passed) they can not even begin to start that

Dante - PARANOIA is not my point as I don't use Neteller (Not for the reasons mentioned, I just don't find a need of having to go through them to deposit or withdrawal with a book), and you honestly think that the IRS don't care about $300.00. Make a mistake on your return and see if the IRS won't send you a letter requesting an amended return with payment in full.

I think it would depend upon what they were asking. I doubt that NETeller would allow fishing expeditions.
