Speaking of 17, in late feb. I went to myrtle beach w/ brothers,uncles and dad. We played at Myrtle Beach World Tour Course which has a hole 17 replica. ... My brother steps up....pitching wedge ...lands just barely over the sand and rolls in...Hole in One.. To boot it was Sunday pin placement, pin was basically buried......NO WAY do I believe his ass , if I dont see it myself!

i played it . hit the green with no problem.
just a little 9 iron..
hitting the fairway on 18 was a whole different story. blew it out to the right on the side of the hill. played my ass for a 5 .

I played the course about 10 years ago 2 weeks before the TPC. One of the last foursomes to go off before they closed down the course. Greens were SLICK...I must have 3 putted 12 holes or so.
I get to 17 and there had to be 15-20 people just standing there watching foursomes come through.
First 3 guys in my foursome all put it in the drink, so the pressure was somewhat off of me.
Hit a 9 iron stiff to about 4-5 feet and jam home the bird. All proud of myself, I make a mental note to save the ball.
Walk straight over to 18 and blast the same ball in the lake...:missingte

They probably decided to do that the year after I played as I left my mark on that track. I left more beaver pelts on that course than you would see at a trappers convention.
Actually, that same week I saw the most amazing shot I've ever witnessed in person. Playing the Sawgrass CC (where they used to play the TPC) my friend hit a 5 wood on 18 240 yards....in the cup. Double Eagle. We didn't see it go in as it was so far. Spent a couple of minutes looking around the green for the ball only to find it in the jar.
Cost the man a bunch at the bar.
