Oh I left out Harrah's bought Binion's Horseshoe which they then sold, and bought Horseshoe gaming, no affiliation to Binion's Horseshoe, even though they are owned by a Binion.
What GD? Binions are out of the business completely now, even Becky the B**ch. Harrahs bought the Horseshoe name, Mountaineer Gaming bough the dump downtown and the name "Binions" with it. Rumor is Jack Binion wants to buy into something, but he is being patient about it to the point where there isn't much left for him to buy.
Reread it Bill, Harrah's bought Binions then sold (to MTR), they then bought Horseshoe Gaming, LLC (which was owned by Jack Binion). It was not an accurate timeline, just an addendum to the previous post.
Sorry your two posts threw me off. Bottom line is Jack Binion is maybe the wisest man left out there in gaming and sadly he is completely out of it. We get Gary Loveman and Terry Lanni running things and ruining old fashioned gaming while they are at it.
Agree that Jack Binion is the last of a dying breed. With the consolidation of the industry in Vegas, Jack can bide his time and snatch up a property and annihilate the big boys with service and generosity. Sadly, the public are sheep and don't care if they get ripped off most of the time.
I will be interested to see what Pinnacle will bring to the table here in town, as I have heard good things about Dan Lee who was once Steve Wynn's right hand man.
