Complete financial details were not immediately available, and the two sides were still fine-tuning some elements of the deal late into the night, one team source acknowledged. But sources said the contract is worth approximately $3.5 million per year and that Johnson will receive a $5 million signing bonus on a contract that could be officially signed as early as Friday.

$14 million and a $5 million signing bonus!!!

Is that nuts??? Look at his numbers from last year.

And I thought I was the only one that thought this was nuts. When I heard he got $5 million signing bonus I was amazed. He has good hands, but his best days are behind him. Hes gonna be the highest paid #3 receiver in the league. The money could have been better spent. But on the bright side, Im a Bucs fan.

For that much? Giants weren't even in that ball park with their offer.

If the Cats are in good cap shape, then why not?
They need a #2. You cant carry unused cap space into next year.
I would rather have my team spend every penny they can, rather than be 20 mill under it year after year (Arz, Minny, Phi and the Pats of this year come to mind)
