Is a 40 unit bank roll enough to follow Bucsfan in baseball

This is a question that I am also curious about.

Also, what would be a good book to use for baseball? I'm with BetJamaica right now, but their lines aren't as good as Pinnacle; however, Pinnacle charges $15 for every withdrawal and I play with very little money, and that would severely eat into my winnings. I'm very interested in Matchbook, but don't know much about them. They seem like they would be great for baseball.

Bet JM is good for baseball, if you only use one book and are a very small player I would use either them or 5 dimes.

I think 40 units can work following Bucsfan, his plays are 1, 2, or 3 units but he plays a lot of games everyday. Losing or Winning 10 units in a day is seen quite a few times in the season. If Bucs stars the season out on a good note you should be ok.

However, if you have the option I would change your unit size so that you start out with at least 60 units. Change later in the season if your bankroll is built up enough if you want.

40 units is not enough. No reflection on Bucsfan or any other capper.Minimum of 100 units.I play much more conseratively than that.I use 200 units as a startingpoint and go from there.I will incresae my unit value as my bankroll increases.Think you are asking for trouble if you use his or anyone elses plays with only 40 units behind you.

It all depends on what your unit value is.
1 Unit = $1, 1 Unit = $10, 1 Unit = $100

Starting Bankroll of $2000 with $50 a unit gives you 40 units to work with. If its not enough cut it down to $25 a unit.

The man thing is, how much can you afford to lose ???
He may go on a 20+unit run, but he might also hit a streak and be down 20 units. Your bankroll and money management has to be able to carry you through the good and bad times.

I would say no...I know he has had 40 unit losing streaks, and a couple years ago Buc got off to a slow start, then came back strong....I am pretty sure he was down well over 40 units that year, he would know better (2003)

Journeyman, what would you say the minimum amount of units you should start with for the season. I will be starting with a $2000 bankroll.

Hello to all,

also looking forward to baseball, though this year i wish that college hoops never end.

First of all: Bucsfan is one of the greatest capper in baseball (also i don't want to forget to mention choptalk, journeyman, tomorrow's newspaper and other great baseball capper, sorry if i forgot one), but i find it scary how many people are already relying on bucsfan.

Did it ever come to your mind that also a great capper like bucsfan could have a loosing season? Imo you are putting to much pressure on this guy before season started. And newbies could get a false picture of reality. And past records didn't help much for the actual season, right? They just show that ability is there to cap baseball games and it shows the end result, but id doesn't show the bad streaks which can wipe out a newbie with not much cash in the account. So, it can happen you follow someone blindly who won more than 100 units last season, he wins this season again more than 100 Units, but you lost 40 Units, because you catched a bad streak and your money is gone.

If i were a newbie and read all the postings from the last days i would go to my bank, withdraw 10000 or 20000, put it in my betting acount and follow bucsfan and at the end of season i would count my money. If it would be that easy we would all be on the bahamas and drinking cocktails, right?

Also i have made the experience that someone who is a good capper and had a bad season often have a great next season.
Maybe the expectations are just a little bit to high.

cheers and good luck to all,

If I remember correctly, he ended up the season around +160 units, although at one point he was up around 185-190. So if you followed him all season, you enjoyed an incredible ride. However if you joined that ride at its high point.....well you get the picture.

100+ units in a season is certainly no sure thing, but it would be impossible for someone like me or Bucsfan to have a losing season in baseball. 100% impossible. There is too much margin for error and too many games in a season not to finish up in the ++++.

Its not like football where if you have 4 bad Sundays 25% of the season is over.

The only thing that can derail a newbie following some of the top cappers at this forum is poor money management.

40 Units???

Well depends on what happens the First 2 weeks, i suppose!
That is a tad short to start with, but if there is NOT alot of chalk in there it might be enough. Again depends on the first 2-3 weeks and the chalks.

I've got a question about the units too... Lets say a "unit" for me is $100. And The play of the day is -150 for 3 units. Is that a straight $300 bet to win $200... or is it $450 to win $300?
