I was in a bar with Red Sox players after a game in Baltimore and they were positive Brady Anderson and Roberto Alomar were switch hitters.

Ummm what Fishhead? Sounds like you think Brady and Roberto sound ummm ummm good. I am wondering about your sexuality right now? Also questioning your mental competance after your thread trashing the NCAA tournament and preaching the virtues of (yawn) hockey.

Yeah, and you're living in the hockey hotbed of the world, Florida. That's about like following tennis in Duluth, Minnesota.

I have bad memories of Tampa. We drove to Tampa from Lakeland one year on our spring trip to play Tampa University (?). I hit home runs my first 2 at bats and then (I know this will shock you) it started raining and game got cancelled wiping out my 2 home runs. My teammate later broke my career home run record by 2 home runs after I graduated.

Yes, and I bet if you checked to see who their coach was in that game, it was my old coach, Earle Bruce. He coached at Tampa before coming to ISU.

Yes, they played in Tangerine bowl in 72. That was the year before he came to ISU. We had quite a few guys from the Tampa, Lakeland, Orlando area of Florida on the team as he kept the connection down there. Just about every one of them were big contributors to our teams and they were some good guys.

That is really interesting, never knew that.

The Hawkeyes are recruiting nicely here in the Tampa area.......in fact, believe they have no less than three players from one of Floridas best HS programs, ARMWOOD.

LAKELAND was the #1 team in the country in the USA POLL

Talked to him a couple of years ago. He lives in Florida now. You would probably see him at a racetrack. He always loved playing the horses. I think he used to be at the tracks with Art Schlicter when he was at Ohio St. and Art was playing for him. Bet he regretted that.

Our two starting wideouts on the team for a couple of years were Stan Hixon and Ray Hardee, both from Lakeland. Two of the nicest guys on the team. Stan is receivers coach for the Washington Redskins today.

:lolBIG: You got to love guys like Art. He makes the rest of us all seem like Baptist ministers. Funny thing is, whenever I get together with some of my college buddies they always end up calling me Art before the night is over. :monsters-

Yes, you two have a lot in common...........midwest farmers, quarterbacks, degenerate.

:lolBIG:

Have more than a couple ART stories.

One time was with him and he had a $20,000 freaking HORSE PARLAY working!!! Lost both ends...... was then broke and was looking around for a $200 loan that anybody would give him.

Sounds like he really fit the old assumption that true gamblers really want to lose money. Which leads to the discussion I frequently have with people- I feel if I had tons of money, the thrill of gambling wouldn't be that fun. Living on the edge is part of the attraction I believe. Probably not for you Fish because it's a business for you. For me, it's the action. Sick.
