I posted this months ago in the NFL forum and again recently there. Still no response so I am posting it in this forum. Hoping to get feedback from the Rx on this. It seems bad to have a banner to winningedge.com if they are not living up to sending out prizes from this contest.

Prizes from WinningEdge contest
<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1>
<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Being that The Prescription had a link to Wayne Root's WinningEdge website for a few months while their big weekly NFL contest was going on, I thought I would post this here to see if anyone knew when the prizes would be given.

I finished in the top ten one week. Anyone finishing in the top ten was supposed to recieve a year's subscription to ScoreRunner and a copy of Wayne Root's "The Zen of Gambling" book. I have yet to receive anything and even e-mailed WinningEdge about it a while ago with no response.

Can anyone from The Prescription follow up on this? Or can anyone confirm they have received their prizes and maybe I just haven't?

I don't want to call them. If I do that, they will call back just trying to sell picks or whatever. They probably won't even remember why I called in the first place. That's how it is when a company is worth four cents a share.

The winner each week was supposed to get a trip to Vegas.

Yes, and anyone finishing in spots 3 through 10 in a given week was supposed to get a year's subscription to ScoreRunner and a copy of Root's book. I have not received either nor have been contacted in any way about it. These prizes are barely worth anything and they still never bothered to follow up in giving them out.

Welcome to the school of Scam Root. He preys on the weak minded. I just wish one day he will get his comeuppance.

Well, I finally received something from Winning Edge for the contest last year. But of course what was sent was not what was promised.

In the mail, I received a copy of Wayne Root's most recent classic book "Millionaire Republican" but this was not the originally promised prize. Not even autographed or anything - just the same book you could have bought anywhere. It has nothing to do with sports or gambling - just politics, life, stocks, wealth, etc. The original promised prize was an autographed copy of "The Zen of Gambling" book - a book mostly having to do with -sports- and -gambling-.

Another prize was supposed to be a year's subscription to ScoreRunner but a letter sent with the book explained that ScoreRunner was no longer in business. However, the letter says that Wayne wanted to "make good" (hah!) for not having that prize and make up for it with a weekend's worth of Millionaire Club picks! Baseball and Pre-Season Football! And you even have to -call- a phone number to get the picks so we all know what that means! Hah, what a bunch of crap! Replacing a useful prize with just a salespitch!

The letter also said that in standard Wayne Root fashion, he is changing the channel again that his show will be on this season. Now it's going to be on the Discovery Channel! Hah! He changes channels every year to try and find new audiences. But gees, the Discovery Channel?! Hah!

Nice to see this contest saga finally come to some sort of end. And it's pretty much the type of end that I expected!

Wayne Root aka Scam Root. How does this clown continue to scam people?

Last year I got a spam e-mail from Nine.com actually promoting this guy. Send money to Nine.com and in return they would set you up with Las Vegas' #1 handicapper, Wayne Root's Winning Edge Newsletter.

Hah, that's a good one. I'd stay away from that place.

It's just one scam after another with Root. He finally gets around to sending out prizes that should have been sent nine months ago. Then it's the wrong prizes and even substitutes one prize with a salespitch!

I can't believe The Discovery Channel is now going to have his program on the air. He must stiff each of these networks every year so he has to find a new network and also uses it to find a new audience of suckers.
