bottom line is...in the nfl, you make a negative comment about the officials, you get fined. end of story.

didnt happen here. this may be unprecedented.

This is as good a time as any to start another arguement about how the refs screwed Seattle, anyone up for it?

Where is Red Eye?

if i start in again...with all the details...i will get an ulcer for sure.

i am just glad that everyone in the league office sees it for what it was...a frickin travesty. that is why holmgren did not get fined and that is why people are still talking about it.

i dont think it will ever be the same again. at least not for me.

Where is Red Eye?

From todays AP story

To this day, Holmgren continues to question some of the officiating calls from the 21-10 loss to the Steelers.

"To have the story of the Super Bowl be the officials, that was crazy," Holmgren said. "I was more angry and frustrated by some of the calls that I was devastated."

Holmgren said he won't be fined for his comment at a Seattle pep rally after the Super Bowl he joked to the crowd,

"We knew it was going to be tough going against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I didn't know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well."

Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said Wednesday afternoon that he had a letter on his desk recommending that Holmgren be fined, but that the two spoke this morning and Tagliabue decided against such action.

LOL....Not going to start another argument about the calls that went this way and that way, but it did look rather questionable. And i had Only sweat bet on the game as i quit the NFL long ago. But when the Stupid Bowl comes around i always take the Doggie! Dont win very often either...lol

Would love to hear that conversation, I mean can any league rep say with a straight face the game was officated evenly? I don't even care about the 3,150 dent to my bank acct that I took anymore, Seattle was the right side...The game swung several times, towards Pittsburgh, yes the punter sucked, Feagles kept putting the ball in the end zone instead of inside the 10, yes they gave up another Steelers gadget play, yes Parker broke a busted assignment to the house for 6...YES YES YES!

Seattle was the right side, the refs screwed them from the first TD called back to the holding play that had Seattle set up inside the 2, right down to Ben calling a T.O. with 00 on the clock....and a handful of other plays in between.....
