I think he's all done. His life is in shambles, the pressure is starting to get to him, and it's only going to get worse(much worse) now that MLB is going to launch their steroid investigation.

Game over cheater......All his records should be stripped-every one of them is DIRTY.

He wants to break RUTHs record........that is his main goal.

Not that concerned with Henry's record in my opinion as he is with the BABE's.

I used to give this guy all the benifit of the doubt, but no more...........guy has serious issues.

I hope he doesn't make it thru the beginning of the season let a lone the end of it. At least Mcguire and Sosa faded out of the game so we didn't have to watch them anymore

I agree that all his (as well as McGwire and Sosa et al) records should be expunged from the record books. But what makes you think he is done? Fish posted this on 3/27...

Doug, I think that MLB investigation will be the final straw. I just don't see him making it through that one.

If Bud Selig even thinks about launching an investagation he will go down in history as the biggest hypocrite in the history of baseball!!

Selig has known about steroid use in baseball for over 30 years and has never even attempted to do anything about it. Now that its the hot topic he all of a sudden wants to investigate?

What is he investigating? There is nothing to investigate.

Even if they were to find a hidden lockerroom video of Bonds shooting it up his ass in 1997 what the hell can Selig do about it? There was no rule against it in baseball.

Bud you need to prioritize my friend. You have alot more important things to worry about right now than the greatest player in the history of sports.

How about reversing that ridiculous rule you invented a few years ago giving home field advantage to the winner of the fucking all-star game!!!!!!! How dumb was that?

Heard one of the Giants on the radio today and he said this stuff hasn't fazed Barry or the team and that he's good to go healthwise.

I think Barry does what Barry does best...mashes all year long. Would not be surprised if he hit 40 bombs and hit 350. This will be the third year he has been tested for steroids, he can somewhat clear his name by having a good year, at the age of 42, and saying, I got tested for steroids in 2004, 2005, and now 2006.

Barry has always been controversial, I think he is used to this scrutiny and will be out to prove people wrong (which of course he can't, but he can in his mind)

As for the investigation, baseball has already said they can't really do anything about steroid abuse prior to 2004....this investigation is a joke and another hoax on the public by MLB. Barry has already testified to a Federal Grand Jury!

But like choptalk said, all this scrutiny on MLB. why the NFL isn't being called to task is beyond me. I think there is a major coverup going on in the NFL.

I don't wish injuries on anyone, but I wanted be disappointed if Bonds misses a good chunk of the year and then retires short of Aaron. Hank is someone to look up to, a true hero after overcoming all the racism and getting the record "clean".

Bonds toughest times are yet to come, imo

A user review from amazon:

I've been waiting for this book, or one like it, for years. I like many sports fans tend to hold my heros high. This adoration, premised on the idea that their exploits on the field, are an honest reflection of hard work, dedication, and love of the game. Naive? You bet. Professional sports and sportsmen will take the easy road everytime if it means more of the thing they value the most..... money. As Mark Fainaru-Wada in Game of Shadows, points out, players like Barry Bonds will cheat at every turn not to get our adoration, oh no. They don't want our love and affection. What they want is more money and be-damned everything else, including our trust. Mark McGuire is another who has not only tainted himself; no, he's sullied the game that we and he, no doubt love dearly.

There's a special place in hell for these people. I hope they have their own room where they can spend time together.

Game of Shadows is a great book. Well researched and written in such a convincing manner, even the biggest skeptic will be won over. It'll break your heart if you're a sports enthusiast. Be ware.
