Pretty good movie, yeah. Not as funny as people made it out to be, but still entertaining.

Its not overly funny or overly great, but theres just something about it that makes it a very watchable enjoyable movie. If I was flipping channels and saw it on I would stop and watch

Didn't find anything amusing in it at all, and didn't like it.

If you want to see the real thing, I recommend Todd Solondz' films "Storytelling" and "Happiness".

Funny, unique - they don't make 'em like this anymore, and never did - and sexual/relationship/social commentary. But insightful and raw. (And no pretentious wine sniffing).

Make sure "Storytelling" is the DVD with the unrated version included. Howard Stern used to play an audio clip from this film.
Paul Giamatti of "Sideways" is one of the stars.

Blue, I made the mistake of reading the book first, and of course it was much better. They changed things in the movie (including the end) for no real reason. Anyway, its a quick and entertaining read if you have a couple of nights and you can break away from your FHM and this site.

The whole theme about the wine was a metaphor for the movie. There are all different kinds of wine-movies, and only people with an appreciation for art-fine wine, can appreciate the movie. It's not for everybody, but if you have an aquired taste for film with a story then you get the movie and like it. I thought it was one of the best movies I had seen in years. Stuff that comes out of Hollywood nowadays is garbage.

I don't know shit about wine and I still thought it was an excellent movie. Good acting and real to life situations not often seen in movies. Quality stuff.

the dialouge was awesome. that and the way the film was shot made it seem real...not like a movie at all. the other thing is the one character that was getting married reminds me of a buddy of mine. they are almost exactly the same...it is hilarious.

I've seen sideways a few times. Very funny each time. I'm not one to watch a movie more than once.

I knew it won the Oscar for best screenplay, so I bought the DVD. Damn DVD doesn't work on my PS2. Thanks for the props on this show, though, I'll try buying it again.
