Suspend them. If they don't want to cooperate after their suspension is over with, tell them they won't be elgible for the Hall of Fame until they do.

That also goes for retired players such as McGuire, when he gives his "I don't want to talk about the past BS" Don't talk then cheater, your inelgible for the Hall of Fame.

These Cheaters need to know they can't just sweep these allegations under the rug.

As far as Bonds is concerned, wouldn't you think of all people, He would want a investigation. If I was in the game for twenty years and I had done nothing wrong and I was chasing down one of the most hollowed Records in Sport, I would be screaming and inviting a investigation, instead of not cooperating with it. If you were innocent of these charges, wouldn't this be fantastic news to have a free investigation from Baseball, no cost to you, to investigate these charges to prove your innocence.

Agree with you RedEye, but I think the investigation should include all professional sports.

I really dont know what on earth they can uncover to begin with since Mitchell has no subpoena power.

I don't get what fans would get out of these investigations. If you want roids out of the game fine, do what you can to get them out now, but really concerned what happens when you go back years. I mean what if it turns out a team that won a title in 2001 happened to have a pusher like the Balco guy and ends up 80% of the players were taking something that could be seen as a performance enhancer? What good does that do now? I mean calling past results into question and shaming teams and players in the past is ridiculous because it does no good. If you are a fan of the team that lost to the juiced-up champs, are you going to go on saying we were the real champs? I doubt that.

I think this is all just people saying Barry had to have been on something. Whatever the case is, the can of worms people are opening up in these lengths to somehow prove they were right about Barry could backfire. No one wants the sport to be de-legitimized now after the fact. You can't go back and replay the games with suspended players kicked out, so what purpose does this all serve is my question.

Your right, Mitchell can't suppoena anyone, but If these players don't at least cooperate, and since this is going Public, we will at least know that these players aren't cooperating and basically, that is telling you what actually happened. Of course we can't change the past but as baseball fans we have the right to know what happened and which players disgraced the game. I for one don't think that these players that are guilty of cheating should be in the HOF especally if their telling Baseball F**K You

Your right they can't replay the games or change the results, but you can at least put a * by their accomplishments and let the Hall of Fame decide on whether they merit a invite. If you can keep Rose out for all of these years I don't see why we can't keep these Roiders out too, especially if they aren't cooperating with the investigation. Bonds isn't bigger then the game where he can just say I'm not cooperating.

The Entire Controversary is Totally Absurd.
It will prove nothing except that there are lots of very petty folks involved with sports in the USA. Like so much of what happens in the world or in life, in general, one simple question needs to be asked: Was anyone hurt or did you only hurt yourself?
Drugs...legal, illegal or what-have-you; as long as NO-ONE is harmed; need to be LEFT ALONE. Of course that's a concept that isn't easily inderstood by all the righteous purist, not only in sports but in all other areas of our lives.

Why don't they simply close Hollywood and all movies. The hell with an R or X rating.

Totally Absurd!

It Makes a Difference???
Time marches on...Improvements...may or may not be debateable.
Ticket Sales---Bottom Line..Everything else in a capitalist society. No Harm--No Foul.

I can't go back to yesteryear.....
I'm here to talk about the future. Agree with Mark M. on that statement. Nothing at all Good comes from THIS!! NOTTA!
