blue - you must have had a big backyard for them to shoot the movie at your place - i am impressed and i guess you have more money that anyone on the planet to own the entire city of Chicago

not sure i agree on greatest movie ever - sorta

to me - the blues brothers and animal house are so awesome and great i have to put them together and call them the greatest 2 movies and leave it at that

not only was BB entertaining - but the cameos were plentiful and the music was AWESOME

grew up in a south suburb called midlothian. small, blue-collar town. the mall they drove threw and trashed was on the north end of town. they were gonna tear it down anyway so, they let the movie crew demolish it nicely before hand...for a small fee.

other than the dixie mall get trashed by the blues bros and the dowaliby murder case, not much happened of note in good ole midlothian...not to my knowledge anyway.

parents moved out in 1987 when i went to college and i havent been back since.

In the early 90's, I used to play golf in a weekly scramble at course a few miles north of Boston (in Saugus). Matt "Guitar" Murphy would participate every once in a while. He was on my team a couple of times. He'd drive it about 220 and the ball never got more than 5 feet off the ground.

Matt's golf bag had numerous music related pins on it. A friend of mine who was on his team once saw the pins and said, "Hey Matt, you in a band or something?"

Hey Blue, that was in Harvey, not Midlothian...i grew up in Calumet City, and they never shot a second of the movie there, though they said they were from there.

Saw Dixie square mall is FINALLY being torn down, only 27 years since they closed the place...
