If the Refs didn't help U Conn beat Washington by calling enough fouls to cause Washington to lose 4 of their starters... It might be the Pac 10 with 2 teams in the final.Vancouver fan said:well,, you can also look at it as saying that the solid performances by Wash and UCLA raise the credibility of the whole league when you see teams like Cal and USC beating them.. Even Arizona in an "off year" managed to beat Wisconsin in the tourney.. So many teams in the the so called "better" conferences get so much more hype its really hard to tell who's better then who.. I was certainly not impressed with the Big 10 at all,, all they pretty much ended up with was an NIT loss. Well whichever way you look at it.. UCLA is in the final and thats good enough credibility for the PAC for me... One thing I have to admit though, this is definitely the SEC's year... no arguing that point..
Easy now, Kermit. Washington needed 8 on 5 to get past the Illini, and were very lucky to even get to play UConn.kermit16 said:If the Refs didn't help U Conn beat Washington by calling enough fouls to cause Washington to lose 4 of their starters... It might be the Pac 10 with 2 teams in the final.
Reality is probably that we are all a little biased. All parents, including knowledgeable basketball coaches, are biased, and think their own kids are better than what they actually are. Happens almost without fail when a father coaches a son, at any level. Even the General was not immune to it. In the same way, we're all a little biased towards the teams that are close to our hearts, and those teams that we get to see play a lot more frequently than other teams. Really no shock that Rail would make a statement like this, although it has me chuckling. But like I said, almost nobody is immune to having bias.Railbird said:How about reality is PAc 10 is the best confrence in college hoops, Washington one of the 5 best teams in the nation.
Yes I watched the Wash./Illini game at the Mirage and they were in a very close dogfight that seemed to take big swings back and forth. The foul calls favored Washington by a large margin but in that game Washington was constantly penetrating and drawing the fouls while Illini went with their set offense more. However in the U Conn game both teams seemed to be playing similar games and yet all the calls went in favor of U Conn. I simply think that the Pac 10 was a lot tougher than people gave them credit for. Certainly you must admit that the so called Big 10 was a huge disapointment in March madness this year. They stunk it up pretty good. At least Illini put up a fight but 15 ranked Iowa losing to Northwestern State..... YUK !Illini said:Easy now, Kermit. Where are all the COLONIAL bashers? George Mason didn't even win the conference tournament and went to the Final Four. People were calling the CAA a mid-major, but where are they now?
The CAA should have gotten 5 teams in. Hofstra should have been a 3 seed and George Mason should have been AT LEAST a 2 seed. They were better than any team in the Big East or the ACC.
I agree 100 % as I never said the Pac 10 was the best conference this year.I simply feel that the Pac 10 was tougher than a lot of people gave them credit for.nascarphenom said::missingte :missingte
i hate people who say that due to 1 team making it far in the tournament, justifies how good that conference is
its stupid bullshit
Im an ACC fan, but i realize that the Big East was bar none the best conference. Big Ten was right behind them...ACC-SEC right there....Here on the east coast we dont hear about UCLA at all!....only team we hear about over there is Gonzaga. I think that we should hear more about UCLA and Washington b/c they do deserve the credit
Congrats to UCLA making it to the championship game, and i think they win it all as well. but no way in hell does that mean that the Pac-10 is the best conference! thats a joke
with all the kids now jumping to NBA, there will NEVER EVER be a run like the ACC use to be.....power conferences will change every year now. kids dont make it to their senior years anymore
anyways.........GO NASCAR!
