Play: Cle/Chi over 8 +100 (pinny): Sabathia failed to find his groove in the spring, posting an 8.35 ERA in five starts with no wins. His walk total was also high (10 in 18 innings) and he was winless in 2 starts against the Sox in 2005. Buehrle is one of the AL’s premier starters and has been stingy against the tribe recently, but I’m counting on Cleveland’s hot hitting in the grapefruit league to carry over to opening day. Sizemore, Blake, Boone, Hafner and V. Martinez have hit .323, .359, .382, .354 and .370 respectively this spring with a combined 14 home runs. Chicago has been potent this spring as well, with Konerko, Thome, Uribe, Podsednik, Pierzynski and Anderson all posting averages of .300 plus. I see the winning team scoring 7 or 8 runs in this game, as has been the case in each of the past three Sunday night openers.

Sorry to see we are on opposite sides here...I feel that both pitchers will bring their "A" game today and I dont see the grapefruit league batting averages holding form here on opening day.

But best of luck to you this season!!:toast:

Play: TB/Bal over 9 -102 (pinny): Surprised to see such a low total and these are arguably two of the weakest number one starters in the American League. Back that up with suspect bullpens and you’re looking at a slugfest in charm city. Kazmir had a heinous spring, posting a 9.24 ERA (2.68 WHIP) and Lopez has seen some struggles against the Rays in the past.

Play: Tex -104 over Bos (pinny): I’m not convinced Schilling is anywhere near his 2004 form, yet will still rely on his fastball to try and overpower the Rangers. That will be a big mistake against as we all know how the Rangers rake. Boston will keep it interesting but look for Texas to pull out a close win.

Play: Was/NYM over 7.5 -121 (pinny): Glavine has struggled this spring and probably wondering if he can still get it done. Livan had a solid spring, but was owned by the Mets last year, posting a 6.14 ERA and .314 BAA. Add a suspect Nats bullpen and this should easily exceed 7.5 runs.
