Here we are again......another Opening Day, and another year of profitable baseball capping. I'm not new to the Rx, but I just starting posting recently. I thought it was time to share my efforts with the rest, as this forum has been very good to me in other sports such as CBB.

I've been developing a sophisticated baseball capping model over the last 8 years, and will be sharing my plays from this system for the entire year. I call it the Blackbox, as it incorporates many different variables that get put into it, and it just simply predicts winners consistently. In addition to plugging in the raw data to my Blackbox in Excel, I constantly make minor adustments for factors that can only be interpreted and applied manually. I spend enormous amounts of time capping these games, and it ultimately pays off. Hopefully we can all help eachother in this forum, and make it a profitable season for all!

Here are my plays for the Opening Day games. Approximately 90% of my plays I flat bet, and thus they will all be 1 unit (unless stated otherwise).

4/2
Cleveland & Chicago - OVER 8 (+105)
Both of these offenses will be improved from 2005, as the ChiSox added big Jim Thome, and the Tribe have several young players coming into their prime. Buehrle pitched about as well as he could last year, so we can expect a drop off in his ERA, and Sabathia should be somewhere in the same range as last year. Additionally, both of these teams had stellar bullpens last year, and you can't expect that both of these teams can maintain those low ERAs once again. All things point to OVER in this matchup. Let's hope the weather cooperates.

4/3
Philadelphia +131 St. Louis
Los Angeles +120 Atlanta
Chi Cubs -124 Cincinnati
Big Z takes the hill for the Cubs in this one, and we should continue to see special things from this guy. He has been on the verge of several no hitters in the last few seasons, and is the Cy Young favorite this season IMO. The Cubs also simply underperformed offensively last season at the top of the order. Now that Patterson is out, and Pierre is in, you can expect at least a .5 increase in RPG. On the other hand, the Reds have played absolutely awful at home in last few seasons, and I don't expect it to change this year. They can tear the cover off of the ball, but the trade of Pena may hurt this team more than they imagined.
Milwaukee -115 Pittsburgh
Milwaukee & Pittsburgh - OVER 8 (-111)
Washington & NY Mets - OVER 7.5 (-110)
NY Yankees & Oakland - OVER 7 (-130)

Good luck.....the baseball season is a long haul, so there will definitely be ups and downs. Hopefully we can start the season off right! I'll take a day something like 5-3 or 4-3-1 to get it started.

Good luck, waz. It just feels good that now winter is gone and baseball is back. Hope you would do well this season. I will keep checking in your thread daily.

If you can, would it be possible for you to post picks as early as you did today?

Good luck to you for this season. :thumbsup2:

Thanks for the good luck wishes, and I wish you the best as well. I will normally post my plays either the night before or early on in the day of the games.

It's too bad the rain looks like it's going to wash away a potential winner......6 runs in 3 1/2 innings looked pretty nice. No worries though, it is a long season.

This guy is for real...

As a close friend and someone who has seen the system personally... I can tell everyone that "Waz" is for real and following him could win you some money. He is one of the smartest guys I know and he knows baseball inside and out.

That being said your Zambrano for Cy Young prediction couldnt be because you are possibly a Cubs Loyalist.

LOL... Good luck buddy I will most certainly be following you closely. Now lets hope this rain doesnt stop your chances of going 1-0 because that first bet certainly seems like money.

Later,
J

FYI - I just read that Derek Lowe has the flu, and will still pitch on Monday vs. the Braves anyways. This is some cause for concern......bettors beware!

do you normally add plays during the day? Or are all your plays set?

I'm asking this because I need someone who consistently posts early and do not put out any late plays out there that can be missed.

Most of the time I will be posting my plays the night before if I can get all the capping in. If not, they will be up early the next day.

Waz, just for the official record. What is your goal or expectation of this system over the course of a season?

40 Units? 50 Units?

Jaydog-

As you know results will vary widely season by season, but I am targeting a profit of at least 40-60 units this season. But you have to remember, all of my plays are based on 1 unit. Thus, you may see others on this forum claiming that they win over 100 units a year regularly. However, some of them are posting 3 and 4-unit plays every day. Thus, you can take my annual goal and multiply by some factor for comparison purposes. I just don't believe that one of my plays is ever 4 times better than another play, thus I will not be posting multiple unit plays (except on a rare occassion possibly).

Good luck to ya', bro

I am a newbie to the baseball forum but everything I have read has stated you are da' man.

I read your plays and will track 'em through out the season. I wish you the best of luck, not only today but the rest of the season.

However, I took the Braves as my only play today. I like Huddy in today's action. He has some nice history on his side when playing Los Angeles.

He is 4-0, 2.43 ERA against them in 5 career starts. He is 1-0 with a 1.46 ERA in two games in Dodger Stadium. In the last 14 innings gainst him he has allowed 3 earned runs.

Lowe is coming off a rather disappointing season and if he has the flu, well...hmmm, that even could be another plus reason to play the Braves.

Go get 'em!
