Monday Bases- Just totals!
On Totals for 2006
I learned alot about totals last year and always eager to help anyone learn. Was 61 % last year (unofficial as was on another site).
I like how people want to help on this site and provide a nice family atmosphere. I am an unknown here and just see if I am any good!
Umpires- weather-trends-whips-era-bullpen availability and strength-injuries etc are gathered to make the selection. I generally like Unders and have won generously on those. Go easy at first -we all all just getting to know the teams and the changes they have made. Good Luck All

2006 Totals

We went 3-0-1 yesterday and so that is the record. 3-0
I wondered if anyone has a good site on team matchups as I can't find the one I used last year. Need whip as well as other stats. USA Today is pretty good- have fox and covers.
On the dog play- I have looked at the exhibition season and neither pitcher has performed well. Good Luck and thanx on any info!

Totals:
NY -Oak Over 8 1/2
SF-SD Over 8
Tor-Minn Under 7
Big Dog- Pitt -Milw Over 9 (+110)

SunDog are you going to be posting your totals in the same thread (this one) throughout the season?

This guy does very well! Know him from another site.
He is well respected over there and think he will be an asset to this forum.
.....................Or... he is blindly stealing his plays! :lolBIG:

Thanx Gr8whtenorth- It is I from the other site. This forum seems very informative and I wanted to help as much as I can. Yes - I will stay with one thread as I have little time to do much more than post. I hope that doe not offend anyone.

My my- the dogs roared yesterday after the chalk took it the day before- such is this world of paybacks. We went 1-2 on totals with one postponed.
The big dog hit so you did not lose much- even if your confidence in me is shaken a little-- we are 4-2 overall. On my other site I am 5-2 with the opening over on Chi W.Sox/Cleveland.

I can only tell you that alot of folks were hurt yesterday and we were hurt a little. If I say we are going to have a good day- you will notice the 1* plays will be higher. Confidence in plays are the key. MLB has put umpires that are generally unders with an expected over teams - sometimes they do not- it is my job to see this and structure the bet accordingly. If you wish to look in and play - fine- I am not here for ego or for accolades- In one week I and a few followers won over 10 grand last year after the break. That is a great booster but I had down weeks as well.

I do this only as a hobby and generally don't even keep a record except for bases. I am streaky as they come. Hot or cold. I don't want to even play me when I am cold- so be it. Back later.

Totals: Early games
I have looked over this game pretty thoroughly and have come away with these thoughts on the game:

2*KC/Detroit Under 9

Mays throws a good sinker and has a better defensive set behind him this year. He stunk last year but was rehabbing off of Tommy John Surgery. I sense he feels stronger (after looking up town news) and will hope to get the batter swinging early to be effective.
Bonderman is also stronger and has been working on his arm (specific muscles) to contribute to his style of pitching. I sense he will be effective as well.
Note: The umpire is Over in 5 of the last 6 going back to last year.

I have changed this to a 4* rating.
The Umpire Eddings is primarily an Under Ump even though the last 5 of 6 were Overs last year.
It is my contention that MLB will place Under Umps with Over Quality Games and Vice versa all thru-out the season to bring different aspects to a game. An under ump has a larger strike zone and the pitcher can get strikes where balls may be called elsewhere. I remember when I used to frequent the dog races- they would slow the rabbit down to upset the pace of the lead dog. Crafty!

My highest rating will be a 10.
However, mays is getting clobbered 3-0 in the top of the 1st and they are still up. To be honest - it may be best to see a few starts before trying to figure out if these pitchers are worth a dang. No matter how far you dig- it still does not equal the stats and arm strength that you see after two starts. I also do not want to post anything unless I can have a better take on the game. When you see 0's for era and stats - its not much to go on. However, I will try looking more into exhibition baseball for clues.
