hhhmmmm...sucked to the extreme last year with the cubbies. he sucker early and he sucked often.

on a new team this year and not in the closer role and...he pitches a 1-2-3 eighth in a tight ballgame. and, if i remember correctly, he was damn good with the twinkies the year before the cubs got him.

maybe the problem was the cubs and not latoya?

Hawkins was even worse with SF after the trade than he ever was with the Cubs. He sure had some notable blowups but his overall ERA as a Cub was under 3, believe it or not. So his suckiness was overstated to an extent.

That said, 1 scoreless inning and you're drawing grand conclusions?

He was unbelieveable in a set-up role with the Twins. For some reason he just couldn't put it together in Chicago or SF. But he was damned near unhittable with Minnesota a couple years ago.
