He had a pretty ridiculous 2nd half of last season, if I remember correctly.

Oh, and Prince Fielder went 0-4 with 4 Ks...is his future over now too? Brewers should just release him, right? Guy obviously can't hit worth shit. There's no hope.

Giambi had an OBP last year of like 450 and hit 30+ bombs. I wish he played for my team

Think Prince Fielder has a good chance of being a bust. At least until he matures as a hitter. Very little plate discipline but will hit his share of dingers.

just in--

According to STATS, Giambi is the oldest player in major league history to hit a walk-off homer, surpassing Hank Aaron, who was 42 days younger than Giambi when he did it in 1976.

<!--featured-caption-->On Monday morning, Jason Giambi officially announced his retirement from Major League Baseball, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.
The 44-year-old slugger spent 20 seasons in the big leagues between the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, and Cleveland Indians. He finished his career with a slash line of .277/.399/.516, and hit 440 career home runs. Giambi was a five-time All Star selection, a two-time Silver Slugger award winner, and was also named the American League Most Valuable Player in 2000.
Giambi’s legacy is affected by his connection to the Steroid Era, as he admitted in 2003 to a federal grand jury that he did use performance enhancing drugs. Regardless of the connection to the Steroid Era, Giambi was still one of the more dominant players of his era, and one can even argue that he was the best player in the entire game of baseball during his prime (1999-2003).
In a statement to the New York Daily News, Giambi was thankful to many people who helped him through his career. Here is a piece of the official statement from Giambi:
“Ever since I was five years old, all I ever wanted to be was a Major League Baseball player. The Oakland A’s, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Indians were a big part of helping that dream come true.
To the managers, coaches and players, it’s been a tremendous honor sharing the field with you and thank you very much.
I want to thank the fans for being a part of this incredible journey. I especially want to thank the fans that gave me a second chance to let me show you the human being you see today.
Lastly, to the game of baseball: I started playing you when I was a kid and I’m leaving you a man. Thank you.”
