If I start posting my baseball picks in tracker forum. Do I include my results from yesterday in there (posted plays in baseball forum) or do you start fresh and it pertanis to what is the tracker forum only. Either way is fine just wanted to start posting in tracker forum. Less confusion, easier to track,etc....

Only plays posted in the Tracker Forum are eligible for tracking in that forum.

No, not entirely true. If he posted plays in the baseball forum here he should carry that record over if possible.

In fact I encourage it, and any dispute is easily searchable in the baseball forum.

At least this is what I have done to others making the transition before. I feel it makes the record more true.

Do not agree with this and here is why.......

Some will want their WINNING plays transferred, but seldom if any will want their LOSING plays transferred over.

If plays are not placed in the Tracker Forum BEFORE they are played, they should definetly not be included in my opinion.

but that isnt exactly fair Rob, as you can post some plays and get a good start before deciding to have your plays tracked. I feel it should be tracker posted plays only.

edit....agree fish and you beat me to it

Alright well, I have done it for both 1 losing player and 1 winning one. But forget I said that. You are right, opens a can of worms.

I agree Rob and since it is only 1 day than there were only a few plays. I would be more than happy to add my 2-4 -2 units to results. Just didn't wanted all my plays on that thread so I asked. Tell me what do to do and I will do it

Also I misspelled something on my first thread(title was spelled wrong and bothered me) in the forum and just started a new one. Could someone edit the thread that I spelled ICEMAN"s. It was supposed to be ICEMAN'S and will use that one. Didn't know how to eliminate a thread. If not I'm sure it will eventually disappear. Thanks

I make exceptions with good judgement. I think in this case he is fine to carry it over. anyone who has done it has asked first. Nobody has just gone in there and posted a record like hey I'm 17-6, it's always been pre-arranged. I keep it tight in there don't worry :)

Pardon me, don't understand this.

Why not just have them post in the Tracker Forum, takes 34 seconds for them to do so.

Again, not sure what you mean by saying pre-arranged?

This is what I mean. Here is one of two guys I did it for here is the last one.

poster low tide has a thread going in CBB:

http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=236860

he asked if he could carry that record over to the tracker forum. I checked out his CBB thread and saw that he keeps a nice neat daily record so when he wanted to carry over his

YTD 79-78 MINUS 15.8*

into a tracker thread http://forum.therx.com/showthread.php?t=341349

he asked me, and I checked it out and then I said sure.

Rare exception Fish, like I said you can't just jump into the tracker forum with some kind of record unless you prove you have been keeping a neat verifible record all along and have asked first.

Thanks VERY MUCH for the reply RF.......and have NO DOUBT WHATSOVER your credibility in handling the Tracker Forum........ZILCH.

The Tracker Forum is your baby and you do a great job.

The main thing I am concerned about is, as WVU mentioned, one can transfer winning threads and not losing threads.

This to me has the ability to make the Tracker Forum very less meaningful, does it not?

Let me see if I understand your thinking.......if somebody is having a good year in any of the sports forums and their plays are well tracked there and they ask they be transferred to the Tracker forum, they will be?

Realize this has only been two times as you say in the past, and can certainly see it maybe being done possibly in only the rarest of rarest circumstances as you mentioned(which it probably will be if continued) and can understand that.

Please do not take what i say harshly and/or unmodestly towards you or myself.....just brainstorming about this because of my love for the Tracker Forum and TheRX.

Its all good,
FH

I think Rob is doing a great job. I follow the tracker room closely. I have never seen anything shady over there since he has kept up with the standings.

There are rare exceptions that can be made for allowing posters to post past records in the forum(EXTREMLY RARE EXCEPTIONS) I do understand whate Fish is saying. You can let everyone who starts off 42-24 to past post into the trackerroom.

Here is one example of allowing past posting to be allowed.

Lets say a newbie with only 149 post starts posting in one of the sports forums on a regular basis and keeps legit records but started off the season with less than 300 post. All of a sudden 2 months later he has his 300 post.

In this case I would allow him to past post his previous record into the tracker forum.

Good discussion, will only make the site better in the long run. My unsolicited opinion is a strict rule should be followed - it's posted in the tracker forum or it does not count. Period.

One of the reasons I think that is because once you admit to a "loophole" then people will exploit it. With touts, and people like Bucs who just got paid for a nice record around the forums, people are going to do whatever they can to make a name for themselves. What I fear is people who just keep registering under new names (and deleting old user names with bad years) until they finally hit a nice season.....

How do you say no if on their 10th try they finally are kicking ass and want to move their record to the tracker forums? I can hear it now, "others have been allowed to count plays from the regular forums in the past"? Overall the tracker forum is one of the better features here so I think Rob is doing a great job there, never hurts to exchange ideas though. Just my two cents.

On a personal note, my goal is to never have a losing season in any sport in any one season(delivering picks in all sports) in the tracker forum..........thus far, so good.
