I read these stories all the time and I can't help wonder 2 things. How is this not entrapment? Also how is it a crime if there is no victim and the girl is not really underaged? I am not condoneing this action, but I would think that a decent lawyer could get anyone out of these charges. Wouldn't a legitimate line of defense be, "well I thought she was joking about her age", which in all actuality she was. Lieing about your age on the internet is commonplace enough to assume that the girl was fibbing.

Gotta give people credit who pose as these underage kids and bring justice to those with these sick personalities.
It's really sick obviously, but anyone whose stupid enough to do this gets what they deserve. There is a web site called perverted justice that is dedicated to cases like this.

You see these kinds of arrests all the time now. A lot of time dudes will come half way across the country to have sex with some 14 year old girl and find a house full of cops waiting. The type of thing the govt should be cracking down on rather than worrying about internet gambling

very true. did you see that 20/20 or dateline show a few months ago where they set up a video camera to catch these guys as they came to a house in the d.c. area to have sex with what they thought was a 13 year old boy? in a few days, there were like 12 men. a rabbi, a doctor, a teacher...they all risked a ton to have sex with a kid. most of them seemed intelligent and successful too.
