He had a unique voice. Loved the song "She's a heartbreaker."

RIP Gene.

He grew up about 30 miles from my home town. He was known as "The Rockville Rocket." He recorded with the Rolling Stones at least once and wrote songs for plenty of other artists. "Rubber Ball" by Bobby Vee was one of his. He also sang the theme for "The Man who Shot Liberty Valence."

We're all getting old...

Loved, Loved Gene Pitney when we were BOTH young. Liberty Valance was my all time faorite. I hope if I go to heaven, there will be a "Rock and Roll Heaven" I would give up the rest of my miserable life if Hip- Hop music and ALL who have performed it would ALL disappear from the face of the Earth as if it never appeared! Im not that old but appreciate the music of Gene Pitney and really like a lot of his music. Its a sad state of affairs with the music that is popular today. Its absolutely horrible except for a very few artists. Someone that is on top of the charts today isnt even heard of a year from now.Singers like Elvis, gene Pitney and Johnny cash are sadly a thing of the past.Thats why its not hard to believe that Elvis still out sells many performers today.:dancefool
