Two solid days in a row, starting to get a nice feel. 3* plays are now (2-0, +6.00 units) after Toronto took care of business. On to today. Lots of heavy faves, lots of nice priced dogs today. Careful laying the chalk.

2* Philadelphia Phillies (-112) Floyd
1* Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (+173) Floyd
1* Florida Marlins (+166) Vargas
1* Pittsburgh Pirates (+105) Maholm
1* LA Angels (+114) Escobar

Only one favorite stands out to me considering price and that's the Phillies. Played a tough series against a tough St. Louis team and now they get the Dodgers after their dog fight series with the Braves and cross country road trip. Gavin Floyd should have some more confidence coming into this year, and he'll get his opening start at a nice price in front of his home crowd.

Vargas and Maholm are two impressive young guys. Vargas at a great price, Marlins off a day off. Mets stay home after a tough series vs. the Nats. Maholm will be a solid lefty in MLB. Escobar and the Angels are a home dog because the public loves the Yanks. Yankees have a sub-par starter going.

Nice way to start off the day with an Injun victory never in doubt. Long way to go with today's card. Heading out for the night in a little. Dickie Thon did well at 12-8, but Don Slaught starts off 1-0 in the battle of the alter ego wars.
