Had a PHILS FAN tell me during spring training that this was going to be one of the three WORST seasons in Phils history.........which is going out on a big limb because this team figured to be over .500 on paper.

Maybe this fella was on to something.

They have a feclempt lineup. Worst is the terrible 5 man rotation and shaky bullpen now.

Lieber- way below average Ace (should be a #2 or #3)
Myers- potential is there, has to put it together (should be a #3)
Lidle- #5 caliber pitcher, bad news when he is #3 in rotation
Floyd- hasnt shown much at allin brief career
Madson- good reliever, well see as a starter

So basically they have a #2, #3 and three #5 starters, not going to win many games like that.

The biggest strengh was the bullpen, now that is totally gone.

Wagner - left free agency
Urbina - who the hell knows now
Madsen- now a starter

It was hard to bet on team that just got swept in a home 3 game set. It will Really be hard to bet on them next out, as losers of the first 4. This might, just might be the start of a GREAT looseing streak. And i do play streaks.

I am inclined to think they are due for a win. It's not like they are
the Portland Trailblazers of MLB. Any stats on trends, e.g. contenders
losing streak to start a season?

Almost everyone was on them in the BBL forum today, BTW.

Well i play baseball for the streaks. Yes i saw that Everyone was on them today, but i wasnt. You never know when the streaks are going to jump up and go 0-10 or 10-0 i just try to catch it after the first 3 of either. The "due" factor does not apply !

Good point about the streaks........The "due" factor really is different in baseball than other sports
